But if a preacher did ask people to dance - is that any different than a preacher asking for everyone to praise the Lord - or let's all pray.

Aren't they all things that we are asked to do by the scriptures?

Now, asking how many can give $500 this morning - that isn't necessarily scriptural - unless you ask if they can give that amount cheerfully.

"Alright now, everybody start speaking in tongues."

"Alright now, let's all praise the Lord."

Two completely different exhortations.

I can't speak for everyone, but I cannot speak in tongues at will.

Only as the Spirit gives the utterance.

Not the same with dancing.

I can dance in the flesh as a response to the goodness of God.

Or I can dance in the Spirit as He enables.

Like I stated, I watched the video and am OK with the Brother and what he said.

He did NOT instruct nor challenge folks to dance on command.

He invited folks to praise the Lord.

Thanks.

Actually, he did both. He invited them to praise the Lord. Then he challenged them but did not challenge them to "dance on command." (I'm not sure where that line of thinking came from.)

Likely the "I dare ya, I double dog dare ya..." was directed at the starchy souls that haven't moved in 20 years.

I loved hearing the eyewitness account of the Spirit falling on our officials, but it does concern me a bit that no one has seen this kind of worship at a GA in almost 50 years. We see this kind of worship regularly at our church.

Though I have witnessed tongues & interpretations given in a crowd of 20,000 or more and it was heard without amplification as the place became hushed as the Holy Spirit spoke.
