Today is not the time to debate what caused this problem whether it be the "tolerance" of the left or perceived "intolerance" of the right, or whether it is due to gun control or not, or whether sufficient resources or political resolve have been expended to prevent or detect potential terriorist acts.

Rather, we should be united today to grieve for those that lost their lives in a senseless killing. The families of the victims need our prayer and love regardless of our views within the political or moral spectrum. Today, our prayers should be for those whose lives are in the balance and for those that suffered no physical harm, but will no doubt, be suffering psychologically because of the carnage they saw. Others will no doubt feel guilty that they survived, yet others were killed or badly injured. I feel for those people as well.

We should also remember those first responders that will also suffer in the days, months and years to come because of the horrors they witnessed.

Today, we should be united as American's in support of those wounded both physically and emotionally. We have plenty of time after the dead have been buried to debate the specifics of how to prevent these atrocities.

Our POTUS has not allowed us the luxury of grieving in any of these events. He is quick to make political points within hours of the events each and every time. Its heart-breaking that we have such horrible leaders. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

Unfortunately, that is true. Let us try to be better than him.

I agree and this is also a rare opportunity for the American conservative Christian church to stand in solidarity with the homosexual community and defend their right to life and liberty over the would-be tyranny of islamo-fascism. Wouldn't it be great if we could show them that we are not their enemy after all. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

I hope the church showed up in Orlando. I am not watching news like I used to. Social media keeps me up to date more than what I want. So, they may be stepping up. My wife works with a lady who lost 2 friends in the killings and 1 is missing. God bless these families! Acts-pert Poster

Post I formerly lived in Orlando Methocostal
I am in the process of contacting friends from Orlando. I lived there for 11 years some 20 years ago.

Having lived there, I probably feel a little closer to the situation, but I am sure those in the area feel the stress of being in the center of the storm is far greater.

We will keep all the residents of Orlando in our prayers.

I have another friend who lives there that is waiting to hear the names. She is sure she'll know some of the dead because she knows people who go there. She is actually Chip Caray's wife, Susan. Chip is a Braves announcer. Acts-pert Poster

I read an article on Facebook about a Church of Christ there that opened its doors and provided food and drink to those standing in the long lines to give blood. As did the Chick FilA there. They opened their doors on a Sunday to provide food and drinks. If I see the one about the church, I'll send it to you, Eddie.

It would have been great if the COG's Operation Compassion truck would have rolled into town with supplies and help for the families. I'm not being critical if they didn't because I haven't done anything either. Acts-pert Poster

Calvary Assembly is a few blocks from there - both right off the highway.

Check their website to see if they are doing anything.
