Does anyone know what hymn book this old song might be in? I cannot seem to find the sheet music online. Thx

"My Sins Are Gone"
Author: N. B. Vandall

1.
You ask me why I'm happy so I'll just tell you why,
Because my sins are gone;
And when I meet the scoffers who ask me where they are,
I say, "My sins are gone."

Chorus
They're underneath the blood on the cross of Calvary,
As far removed as darkness is from dawn;
In the sea of God's forgetfulness, that's good enough for me,
Praise God, my sins are gone!

2.
'Twas at the old-time altar where God came in my heart
And now my sins are gone;
The Lord took full possession, the devil did depart,
I'm glad my sins are gone!

3.
When Satan comes to tempt me and tries to make me doubt,
I say, "My sins are gone,
You got me into trouble but Jesus got me out."
I'm glad my sins are gone!

4.
I'm living now for Jesus, I'm happy night and day,
Because my sins are gone;
My soul is filled with music, with all my heart I say,
"I know my sins are gone!"

Is that hymnal actually called "Red Back Hymnal"? I might have to order it from a publishing house.

"My Sins Are Gone" has always been a favorite of mine in the good ol' redback (or blueback; the church I now pastor has bluebacks in the pews and much older, well-worn redbacks on the platform). [Insert Acts Pun Here]

I see you got a faster response and answer for this question than the original. Actually, I started to use the official name in my response; but opted for the name commonly used by both its lovers and haters.

Someone whose church has not already thrown them out or are about to might just send you a few.

By the way, it is also available in (I think it is called) a spiral bound larger print version.

Well, the reason I mentioned that was that there was a used blue one for cheap on Amazon. However, that was sold by a third party, so you have to factor in a shipping charge.
I had hopped over to Amazon to check out whether or not the "look inside" feature had that particular page. Of course, I got bogged down in the reviews, LOL, so by the time I got back over here to Acts, Quiet Wyatt had already answered your question. I do have a copy that came from a church I attended many years ago. (They had updated to a newer hymnal.)

Thanks for all your input!

Old hymns have made a come-back at our local assembly and my pastor has commissioned me to teach them to our congregation.

We sing one each Sunday before the adult Sunday School class begins. Sadly, the children are already in their classes and are not benefitting from this. Equally sad is that the members of the "praise team" are not there to hear them and to see the mass participation from those in the pews. So in the main service we are still getting bombarded with songs like "I want to lay my head against your chest to feel you breathe and hear your heart beating" and that all time classic "Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom" while everyone in the pews gets that glazed over look in their eyes and blank look on their face.

I'm chuckling at your last few lines. Did you know when we sing "Your Praise Will Ever Be on My Lips," we say the phrase "ever be on my lips" more than 50 times. Ha! Beats counting ceiling tiles!

By the way, I picked up a couple of good hymnals (either Baptist or Methodist) at a used bookstore. They are nice thick hymnals with oodles of good hymns.

Funny when you start talking about hymnals, they show up everywhere. I just saw some (not the Church Hymnal) offered in the freebie section of my local Craigslist. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

I saw a big AoG church in Arkansas that still sings them regularly but from the overhead.

I guess I can understand it from a financial standpoint. Why buy expensive books for kids to trash?
