Huh? |
Genesis 3:16a Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; |
Interesting. Modern translations all render it as "multiply your pain IN childbearing," while the KJV and some of the older ones render it as "multiply your pain AND childbearing."
Just from a logical standpoint, it does not seem to make sense that female fertility would be increased as a result of sin, especially since the command to be fruitful and multiply preceded the Fall and was part of the created order which the Lord called "good." Additionally, scripture many times refers to children as an heritage from the Lord, a sign of God's blessing, not as a God's curse upon mankind.

In heaven . . . |

Do aborted babies (whether 1 hr old or 9mths old) get a celestial, glorified body like everyone else who has eternal life? If God recognizes them as a being then they will be ok in heaven; right? In light of eternity, is that better than a child being born, neglected, abused and rebelious toward God or who may never come to even know there is a God and die and go to hell?
I wonder if we might better put our time and resources into reaching a--usually--young single girl who believes she has no alternative than to have an abortion? Ultimately the fetus is going to be ok but what about the mom? Does she matter? Even if she is a reprobate, the fetus will still be ok. Calling her a murderer rather than reaching out to her with compassion is not what I imagine Jesus doing.
I also have an opinion about demonizing homosexuals; some of whom I have found to be better Christians--in the virtues they display--than some non-homosexual Christians. But that's a thought for another discussion.
I'm not sure God thinks, loves and judges like we do; at least I hope not. |
