You're right. 100% right.
The whole denomination slept. There should be a ton of answers about that scandal. Heads should roll. But, we hit the snooze button and won't wake up until Nashville. |

Otcp I'm trying hard to not be condescending with this post. Please don't take this as an attack.
Your comment reveals the lack of experience and foresight that most COG pastors have. This is a 30 million dollar corporation. It's not a yard sale. We don't put money in a shoe box or a grocery sack.
What more do I want? Here's a start
1. Review of and alignment with GAAP for all COG depts
2. Internal review of policies and procedures with report on GC floor
3. External audit or compilation (not by some cleveland cousin but a real group)
4. Clearly defined steps as to how it happened and how we fixed it.
5. Quarterly financial reports.
6. Resignation of or termination of anyone who should have had the oversight to prevent this from happening.
who has ever heard of a 30 mil company that allows 1 person who isn't even the CEO, to make huge money decisions of that caliber all by themselves?
If any of you got a letter from your bank that said "one of our employees stole some money. We will tell you some of the amount but we don't know or won't reveal the full amount. And we aren't going to share with you how it happened or what we're doing to fix it but we promise it won't happen again" is that acceptable? Nobody else knew? Are there single signature checks at HQ?
Here's what I want OTCP- integrity. Transparency. Accountability. Repentance. Disclosure. Give me that. That's a start.

Let's review again the facts...
One head rolled over a million dollar loss.
Everyone with oversight of that employee still has a job.
That employee regularly talked about how his "companies" were profiting from the GA, yet no one investigated - only accidentally discovering that he had the chutzpah to double bill for "services" rendered...all the while HQ was trying to get GAs to move to every 4 years, remove teen talent, etc...because it is too expensive.
No public request for outside vendors to bid on doing jobs at the GA - always someone from Cleveland / or someone related to someone in Cleveland.
No accounting of how much has been recovered has been publicly disclosed.
If we didn't have a directive from God to fund his church (tithing and/or offerings) - why would anyone continue to give to this organization?
While AprilMay might be regularly wrong - she is not in this case.
