March 1980: Reagan Faces Probable Defeat – Trails Carter by 15 Points

The GOP establishment was scheming in 1980 as well....

As a rule in the past 16 or so years, you can count of polls to be very close at THAT TIME. This year are they polling the same people? or moving around. Because as a rule in Americans, if you bad mouth a POW your numbers would go to the basement. I told my son, Trump is done! His numbers went UP, not normal.

I am saying what was normal is not anymore in polls or politics. Mitt made a speech, using the old 'standards', Trump should have went down, he went up.

We won't know until the rubber meets the road if Trump can win or commit suicide. I am not sure if he does succeed in shooting himself in the foot, if Cruz can win. I ain't sure of much except for a woman who is 'hated', has had people killed (I have heard for years), lies and takes Arab money, Hillary appears to be electable. Shocked

The "scheming" referred to in the 2nd link had nothing to do with polls. Try reading it before you go smarting off.

As for polling technology, the polls were accurate in 1980. They showed a last minute shift to Reagan just days before the election after the debate. Why is it just because Trump is involved, we want to pretend these polls showing Hillary winning cannot change?

I wonder if Reagan had a 65% disapproval rating at this point. Trump trump's Obama's disapproval rating. That's pretty bad. Trump will not win, thank God! Acts-pert Poster

A few more terrorist bombings - and I will bet Trump wins.

I wonder if ISIS secretly wants Trump to win?

I wonder that same thing about ISIS, Europe, and the whole "entertainment" industry. The more they all do their thing, the more Trump's numbers go up.

However, I've noticed that since early March, all Republican numbers against Clinton or Sanders have gone way down. A little over a month ago, only Trump lost to Hillary, and that was only in about half of the polls, some showed him winning, now he's down double digits, and only Kasich barely wins (he was up double digits). I wonder if that is due to the Supreme Court nomination?

I don't think so.

The Republican destruction of Trump makes them all look bad.

If Trump wins - I suspect he will have dirt on Hillary that none of us have even heard about yet.

Don't doubt me.
