Post Why did Rubio LOSE 65 oF 66 counties in Florida? doyle
As stated before, I think Marco Rubio was the sharpest knife in the drawer when it came to Presidential candidates.

According to Ann Coulter, "Rubio's presidential bid was supported by 14 Republican governors, 22 Republican senators, more than two dozen Republican representatives, Washington think-tanks, lobbyists, and the Chamber of Commerce. Time magazine put him on its cover as "Republican Savior."

Florida is his home state, they elected him to the U.S. Senate after he had served meritoriously as leader of the Florida House Of Representatives. Very few people ever have had that much going for them politically. And yet...

So, why did this fantastic American success story, this nice and dedicated Christian man, lose every Florida county but one? Why did 50 percent of Florida Evangelicals vote for someone else? By the way, that "someone else" uses profanity in public, owns many casinos, has been married three times etc., etc., etc., does not exhibit "Christian principles."

Did I mention that if Trump is elected President, his wife will be the only First Lady in history to have posed in the nude publicly. And yet, Evangelicals stood in line to vote for Trump instead of the very nice Marco Rubio. Why?

There is no attempt here to attack Rubio or Trump, but why do you think Trump beat Marco in a landslide with Evangelicals helping bring about that landslip?

Whachathink?
Doyle

I have stated on Acts many times for the last 4 months...nobody in Florida believes a word he says. What He says and what he does are two different things. Trump couldn't possible be as dishonest as Rubio. He never had a chance in Florida. That is why he will not run for Senate again,. Seems like a nice guy...but has zero actual convictions. Florida would not be duped a second time.

you probably nailed it when you said so many leaders in the GOP were backing him. The voters are sick of politics as usual. The promise of cutting gov't then it GROWS. The ones in office promised to CUT spending, they continued Dems and Reps. The grass roots, the base is sick of business as usual. Sad

Because people put their politics ahead of their Christianity. It's the only explanation for Christians voting for such a heathen over one of their own. It's really sad. I have a daughter who is not a Christian and she is shocked at it. I have no answer for her. I am embarrassed for my fellow Christians. Acts-pert Poster

Please explain how a vote for Trump is in any way a compromise of one's Christianity.

I never said that. It doesn't affect your personal Christianity. If you vote for a heathen, it doesn't mean that you no longer believe in Jesus. It just means that you placed a priority of country over God. We do that sort of thing all the time but it doesn't mean you're not saved.

So Rubio was the Christian's choice?

That's funny right there.

Trump is a saint comparatively.

Out of 17 Rep. candidates - Rubio would have been my last choice.

Post I voted.. renewal
I voted for him knowing he was going to lose..

I wanted him to have another chance...

I voted even for him, knowing he Failed to vote Against the defunding of Planned Parenthood, disappointing indeed..But that just shows you how he really feels about some very important Christian issues...

The latest on him from people in the know.(friends who work in the Legislature) stated that he will run for Governor in the next election. That remains to be seen..

Some of the reasons that he went under...

Please help me to understand where I left the impression that if you vote for Trump, you are not a Christian. I am probably the most liberal person on Acts when it comes to who is and who is not a Christian. It is in that light that I post.

You said he failed to vote against defunding PP. I think you meant he failed to vote for defunding PP.
Of course, you're probably referring to the vote he skipped knowing Obama was going to veto it anyway.
His track record shows that he is against funding Planned Parenthood (or for defunding it, if you want to word it that way).

Shocked Smile Love you bro. I really don't think you could have been more obvious! But then that is my opinion, as one who can vote for Trump if the chips are down. Idea

My family and friends know me. Most think I am a Christian and would not even call me ignorant it I did vote for Trump. They know me and my beliefs. Idea

Cojak, I wasn't looking for an apology, just a clarification.
I hate it when I'm listening to a fast-speaking radio announcer and he says, "Representative John Jones voted against the repeal of the amendment to prohibit the ban..." It can get confusing.
