Post Rethinking Perry Stone.... Aaron Scott
Because he tends to tread the more mystic/prophetic margins, I am afraid that it has been easy to turn down Perry Stone's voice.

I'm rethinking that. Why?

In virtually every camp meeting, he is well received, preaches sermons that are clearly from the same stream as that of T.L. Lowery. For that matter, TLL was a spiritual father to him.

I'm not saying I agree with all his takeaways, etc., but he is one of ours...and, I believe, one of HIS.

I look forward to listening more...and dismissing less.

Post Perry is a great guy and a FANTASITC leader & Bible Teacher doyle
If there is anyone among us who has an amazing proven record of dynamic and faithful service, it is Perry Stone. Perry grew up in small Churches of God that his dad pastored. That is no slam on Perry's dad. My folks pastored small churches too and I love them more than I can find words to say.

Perry came up from the grass-roots, mowing the church lawns, sweeping and cleaning the church facilities and at times the bathrooms too, Actually, that is not unusual for preacher's kids. He began preaching youth revivals and youth camps in the COG. All that is good.

But his ministry began to grow - not overnight, but year-by-year as he remained faithful and diligent. Now, he has his ministry headquarters in Cleveland, TN. How much more holy could it get? Smile

If I looked through everything Perry has said and written over the past 20 years, I probably could find something I don't agree with - something on which I may have a different opinion. But when it comes to the Lord, the Bible and caring ministry, Brother Perry has the right name; Stone. He is solid as a rock. His heart is in the right place and millions have been touched by his teaching and preaching.

If he has critics (and who doesn't), my prayer for them would be that their life will be used for as much good as has come through the life of Brother Perry Stone.

Doyle

Post THE LOVE OF GOD
Great post Doyle. I believe he is good. I have a hard time following his messages because he talks so fast. My fault, not his. I guess I believe in him because of his heritage in the Church of God and his father being in the COG. If he were another religion, I probably would be a little skeptical of him because he can get far out on a limb sometimes but I trust him because he is COG. I have a motto, You can't be wrong very long and remain in the COG as we have a good system of discipline in the church. My husband loves his ministry and when he is on TV, I don't say a word about anything till the program is over because he likes to really concentrate on his messages. Friendly Face

Perry Stone was at our church back in October for 4 services. He had some usual "Perry-isms", but he preached the Word. His message on being the salt of the earth was great. It really blessed me personally.

He has some stuff that is out there, and times when I've disagreed with his take on something, but no one is gonna agree with everyone all the time.

Mr. Scott,
I have the tendency to classify Mr. Stone in the same category as the late T.L. Lowery, Rod Parsley and Pastor Bates(?) from KY(?). Not a tremendous fan of any of these men but they do say some things from time to time that grab my attention. I unfortunately, don't like a lot of pomp when it comes to preaching and these gentleman have a gift at making this happen.

Not saying these men are bad people, just they are not my cup of tea.
