That is a good article. I wish the headline was less bombastic (the article certainly is), but, I am not sure how I would make it so. The article supports the headline effectively.

I have two people in my family who have fallen under Trump's spell. They are both extremely intelligent and very conservative. I cannot fathom why they are behaving the way this article describes. I have determined that nothing I say can convince them otherwise. I love them very much, and I trust that if he is elected they will eventually realize the truth; or that he won't be elected and it won't matter anyway.

I've felt the call of the Trump-et. Who doesn't want to give a big "bird" to the establishment that has failed us for so long. But I truly believe that conservatives who follow Trump are, for the most part, conservatives who have never studied what it really means to be a conservative. So someone with a larger than life persona comes in with great slogans like "kick them all out", "build a wall", "China China China", and we think that's conservatism because that's who we're used to saying those things. But its not conservatism. Conservatism is generally held to be based on three things:
1. Small/Limited government
2. Strict interpretation of the Constitution
3. The cause of Liberty

With the POSSIBLE exception of number 2 (in some areas, but not in all), I don't think Trump is even close to a conservative. You can't be hold to one or 1.5 of these and still claim to be a conservative.

I was told by a Trump-promoting family member that I am the one who does not understand what it means to be a conservative.

There is a lot of truth in the article, but most folk who support DO NOT believe half what he says. He is just voicing their frustrations with politics as usual. Trillions of dollars in debt.

That first FEW trillion or so came from a plan of Mr. Bush (whom I did like) to under gird the 'Corporations too big to fail', it was bull then and it is now. Then Obama kept on spending, and OUR CONGRESS helped.

LIBERAL, SPENDERS! you bet, The GOP has control of both houses, WE ARE CONSERVATIVE, but we keep on spending!

AS someone said, " I wish some one was saying some of the things Trump is saying!"

No way this is going to be a simple walk in the park political season. Shocked

Sounds like Trump is rubbing off on them, be glad they didn't say you were also a "nasty person", a loser, and "failing miserably"

I am a Rand Paul supporter, but I can and have articulated quite well Trump's very strong positives that would greatly help our nation. I can also outline his negatives. The article you posted is very misleading.

Please then, by all means, demonstrate how the article is misleading.

Yeah RS, you keep saying things posted about a Trump are misleading but you don't explain why. Which statements in the article specifically are false or misleading, and why? Help us see the light if they're not true. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

So Rush, Sean. Savage and others are dumb for thinking the man has any positives?
