Ole Timer, jus tell me one thing. Is this ere sabbatical thing your own idee or did a "higher up" suggest ya needed ta tone it down or give it a break or what have ya?

Since OTCP seems to have departed before he could answer this question, I'll answer it: No mod or admin suggested, implied, hinted, or in any way proposed that OTCP take a break.

OTCP, happy trails. Look forward to seeing you again.

Post Resident Skeptic
Shake the dust off your feet, brother. The discernment level on this board is so low many think of you as the extremist. This seeker sensitive bunch is seeking anything but the sound doctrine you teach. They are a disgrace to the fine men and women who founded the CoG. God be with you, Ol timer.

Post Oh, NO YOU DON'T! doyle
Nobody has told me they left because of OTCP. Some felt the constant "harping" on the types of degrees people were claiming, was a bit much, but nobody has mentioned to me that they were leaving because of OTCP. In fact, I believe some stayed because of OTCP.

When we began Actscelerate, it was prior to Twitter, Facebook, Smart Phones and all other kinds of communication now available to individuals. It was the first time in the more than 100 years of COG history that it's members and ministers had a place where they could share their opinions without fear of recrimination. Today, there are many such places but ACTS my still be one of the few places where our members and ministers can share their opinions while using a pen name.

OTCP: Oh NO YOU DON'T bring to a close one of the most prolific and interesting legacy of posts, by saying it is because some want you to leave.

If you feel it is time to go, we respect that, but go with your head high and with the understanding, that NOBODY ELSE has had a more prolific record of having interesting and often very humorous posts, than OTCP.

If this was the New York Times Best Seller List, OTCP would be at the very top. If it was the Top Forty Hit List of music, OTCP would have been Number One. In fact, in my opinion, OTCP is still Number One. I wish you wouldn't go, but if you must, THANK YOU for your long legacy of inspiring us with your insight and amazing wit. It has been an honor and a blessing to have you sharing with us all these years. I wish you the very best and if you change your mind, the door to our heart is always open to you.

In some ways, you may find that having a place like this to share your heart and insight, is as important to you as to us. Many blessings.

Doyle

I don't think anyone wants to see OTCP leave. Even me, and he annoys me sometimes. LOL

Hopefully he will see our comments...

Dialogue is good, helpful, healthy and sometimes fun. Everyone should stay and keep communicating.

Unfortunately, preachers don't do dialogue very well as a whole. They prefer monologue.

Folks threatening to leave or leaving because they don't like some of the threads on the board just reveal their control issues. They can't control the discussion, so they leave or threaten to leave to attempt to stifle discussion or punish those they disagree with.

Leave or stay...for the right reasons.

Don't need no pats, Casey. Just didn't wanna cause folk to leave Acts. Now that I know that ain't the case, truth dissemination shall proceed at warp drive. Wink
