Post Mechanical Advice Needed!!! Aaron Scott
I have a 2000 Toyota Avalon.

The other day, something "snapped/broke" when I turned the key. The car would not start.

I bought another ignition cylinder, thinking that was the problem. The garage that was going to install it said that it was the "ignition cylinder HOUSING."

I can't even find that item anywhere online, but the parts store is telling me it's over $400.

Any ideas on how to go about this? Perhaps a shortcut? Or where to find it? Or what it's actually called?

Thanks!

Aaron, for me to advise would be like the blind leading the blind, but I feel your pain. Maybe try calling a junk yard (salvage yard). I would think it would be a part that you could find on a junked car for a better price. Anyway, good luck.
We've had our share of car troubles this year.

Junk yard is your best bet , you can probably get one for about 30 bucks there.

Yes Aaron go to a salvage yard. Might want to make some calls before going. You can save some time.
