Nope, truth is I have only met him personally once.
Through several brethren who know him very well I feel like I know him.
I am aware of his testimony and his history.
Forty eight years pastoring the same Congregation in the Church of God.
He began with seventeen members.
Now the Church occupies two city blocks of property.
He fasted forty days to pray with a woman suffering from anorexia.
He prayed for her and Jesus healed her.
I could go on.
Faithful to God, his wife and family and the Church of God.

| How dare anyone drop a bomb like this and set the ACTS members into speculation and scandal. I am appalled that this has not been taken down already. MODERATORS - please remove this horrible post and never let anyone do this to another person again!!! This is so unfair. Somebody at the Dallas Church has said something and sheepdog decided to spread it even further. Even if Shortridge did something wrong - this is not the place for gossip. Please delete this filth. |

Strange thing this, I was just within 20 miles of Dallas for the last 3 months, attended the COG near Dallas and haven't heard this story....
I am now in Florida and hear it.
I am sure Danny himself has not been charged or accused of anything. With the gossip mill in Gaston County I am sure I would have heard it.
So, my friend Sheepdog, what is he supposed to be charged with? Now you have my curiosity up, since I know folks who attend there and haven't heard a word.
If he has been charged, it is not gossip.. is it?

That's just it.
He has not been charged, yet he is out as Pastor of Dallas.
The issue was embezzlement, however an audit cleared him.

On the Dallas web site it says that he is retiring after 48 years with the church. Pastor Shortridge is now 77 and his wife is 80. They have health issues, as most of us do. I hope they enjoy many wonderful years to come.
For those that don't know Dallas is Dallas, North Carolina. This is town to the west of Charlotte, NC. |

Not sure about that but I just read that he and his wife are retiring.....
He is about as old as I am and it is understandable.
If he was forced to retire I have not heard or seen it anywhere.
the friend I mentioned had not attended there lately and was repeating what a member had told him. I should not have used that. sorry
