Post Flowers for Doyle's Funeral Carolyn Smith
I mentioned earlier that I thought it would be nice if there was a remembrance from us at Doyle's funeral. Shaun has let me know the funeral will be on Sunday, April 3rd, so we have a little time to pull this together.

I got some flowers for a friend last year who was going through a rough time through an online service called For You Flowers. You can look at the website and see what's available here - https://www.fromyouflowers.com/occasion/funeral-flowers (unless someone has a better idea.)

If you are interested in helping with with flowers for the funeral, I have Venmo and CashApp. If you want to send me a check, that's fine too. I will PM you my info. Just let me know...If you have Facebook, you can send me a message through Messenger. If many message me here, I'm going to have to clean out my mailbox again! Smile (But I can do that!)

Please don't feel pressured to participate. If you can, that's great. If not, it's fine.

Blessings -

Carolyn

Carolyn, yes I want to participate but have neither app. Mailing is a little hard at present, personal problems. I am in the middle of major teeth work and am out of it for a week or so.
Is there a way I can send to you thru your apps if I am not a participator?
Thanks jack

Cojak,

Apparently I can invite you to join Cash App if you'll send me your name, phone number and e-mail through the message thing here. We can try that or let me know via the board message what you'd like to send and just send me a check when you are able.

This is what I'm thinking of sending for the funeral. We've had a couple of generous donations and I have a discount offer.

https://www.fromyouflowers.com/products/1-800-flowers_red__white_standing_cross_with_red_rose_break.htm

We can get a banner for $5, so I thought that could say, "Acts-Celerate".

We can also include a card to be attached to the flowers (175 characters) so thought that could say the following:

From your friends at Acts...thank you for everything you did for us. Thank you for giving us a voice and a safe place to be honest. Sending love & prayers for your family.

Comments? Suggestions?

Carolyn, love that one. It is the one I had hoped would be picked. I doubt if you fall short, but if you do please let us know. Cool

I got a couple of messages from Shaun today re: the funeral.

He shared the following from Doyle's son...

"My father, Doyle Daugherty, passed away unexpectedly on March 20th. My family is assisting my mother in memorial planning and keeping costs to a minimum as much as possible. Flowers are certainly welcome and will lift my mother's spirits. She needs that right now. However, If you would like to donate towards the memorial fund that is also welcome and much appreciated. All funds will be used to cover memorial expenses."

The post shows only $250 has been raised so far towards the memorial fund. It is up to y'all what we should do with the money are putting together. So far people have sent or said they are sending around $200. We could get a similar flower that doesn't have red flowers that is a bit less expensive and put the rest towards the memorial fund. Either is fine with me, as I am sure a flower from our group would be meaningful to his widow, also. Please let me know your thoughts, as I'd like to order the flowers by Friday if we are going that route.

His son also sent Shaun this personal note, which read in part:
" I've also heard about a lot of warm sentiments, thoughts, and love from many on the Actscelerate forum; many from whom were my parent's friends since their college days.

Anyhow, since some are asking, all cards, flowers, letters, can be sent to:

Linda Daugherty
115 Mossy Brook Drive
Stockbridge, Ga 30281

Also, financial donations can be made on cash app to: $DoyleDaugherty

Much love and ?? ?? ?? ??"
