How can that be? More guns have been sold by the NRA to white racists than ever before..
Seriously, though, good post, can you post the link? |

Additionally, gun crime is way, way down in states that have gun control... and way, way down in states that don't. It's substantially down across the board:
Something to keep in mind as the media and the left stir up this false epidemic for the purpose of taking your tights.
(Edit: The last sentence is supposed to say "rights", of course, but that typo just has to stay.) |

Statistics don't mean a thing to you, if you are the one robbed or mugged.
I guess it appears worse because 5 to 10 news sources pumping out bad news 24/7 changes the appearance.
So I assumed it was worth. (That is probably a Hebrew word also)
I just asked my wife and she said it is much worse....... (I'll wait and let you correct her Brad!) _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

This is how it works. We are super, super biased toward our own experiences. This is not a learned thing, it's a deep-rooted cognitive bias that tends to really affect the quality of the decisions we make. Being aware of that bias, and seeking to make decisions that will feel counter-intuitive at times but are in fact the most grounded in reality, is a good way to start making better decisions overall.
Also, statistics don't mean a thing to you if you are the one robbed or mugged: true. But the likelihood of you ever finding yourself in those shoes is way, way down over the last 20 years.
Here's a great intro to cognitive biases. Our brains make it very difficult for us to make good decisions: https://www.farnamstreetblog.com/2013/01/the-12-cognitive-biases-that-prevent-you-from-being-rational |

It depends on what "things" we are talking about. Crime is down everywhere except in "gun free zones".....

Just whatever you do, don't publish the FBI's inter-racial violent crime stats. It does not fit the PC narrative many drink down like water. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

Well, if stuff is gittin better, maybe its time for a revival of Paulkian theology, you know, "Kingdom Now" theology where the world is gittin better an better, Christian is gonna take over positions of power, then, when we git everthing right, then Jesus can come back. |

Those places are not FRIENDLY places....
So it would seem that way, I got lost in E. St. Louis in 1961 at 2AM with gas gauge very near Excitement with my scared wife and 2 kids in the car. Bad dudes on the sidewalks staring at this white guy. Visited Detroit and Chicago a couple times never stopped.
I remember Marian Berry saying the DC crime statistics weren't bad, if you left off the murders. And he said it sorta offhandedly, serious.
And Thanks to DD for an explanation of CB. I do understand a little of the meaning of cognitive biases, Maybe I am effected to a point, but I am a pretty logical person. I do not see myself in a plane crash, terrorist shooting, major car wreck or going to Hell. Ship sinks in mid Atlantic, I swim home or make my own craft from debris.
But I agree with Bonnie also, it is good news. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Nope, they're in there. And in fact, despite the fact that major cities remain more violent than other areas, violent crime and murders have been on a long downward streak there as well. |
