Post Lazarus, Death, Healing Mark Ledbetter
I posted a topic regarding Lazarus' death serving a higher purpose than healing but a search has turned up empty.

Any clues?

Eventually, all the posts that are not archived drop off the bottom of the page. You may be able to find a cached Google copy if you know what the title of the thread was (or enough key words to make a good search).

I remember the thread; everyone just kept repeating themselves.

Well, that was putting it nicely. What I wanted to say was that one poster got beside himself so bad he couldn't restrain himself from lashing out at others (but the thread is gone, so I can't tell you which poster it was
Wink ) and nobody wanted to answer a question you asked way back on page one; and even after about 4 or 5 pages, it still hadn't really been addressed. And even if you present a new angle which refutes a person's point, that person seems not to even hear it and continues on with the same old talking point.

But you're right. We get similar responses if we talk about tithing, complete abstinence from alcohol, and a few other topics.

BTW, I did try to Google that thread to see if I could find a cached copy, but I did not have any success. I don't know how long Google cached copies stick around, either.
Do you remember the thread title by chance?

Post Bonnie,, Mark Ledbetter
What I find odd is I can find posts I presented older than the one regarding Lazarus but can't find the specific one I'm looking for...

I'll leave it as seeing odd and not suggest suspicious.

Is it always God's will to heal? No!

You know I think one poster got a little beside himself in that thread and ended up getting banned, so maybe the thread was deleted because of the back and forth between posters. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

The thread wouldn't have been deleted -- if there were posts in the thread that were offensive, just those would have been deleted, but not the whole thread, out of respect to the other authors.

Unfortunately, your original diagnosis was correct; the Acts software prunes things over time in order to keep the database relatively clean.

Yes, I just checked to see how far the regular posts go back in time and saw that they only go back as far as early September of this year. Mark's thread was posted back in February of this year. While there are some things that are older than that, they are in special archives such as "Hot Discussions," "Feature Presentations," and "Polls."

I will make a note to look into this. This is likely a setting that hasn't changed in years and years; we should certainly be able to hold a longer archive now.

Post You know, Mark Ledbetter
I've posted a few "controversial" thoughts on Acts and this is the 2nd one to mysteriously get the ax (or is that axe).

It's hard to imagine how that particular post with the thousands of views and hundreds of responses didn't make the hot discussion, feature presentation, etc. list.

This is me scratching and shaking my head.

You misplaced your razor.

(Note: I am not calling me, or Doyle, or anyone else stupid. It's not always immediately apparent that a post should be saved forever; nor, in fact, in my case, and I suspect in others' cases, was it obvious that the pruning was so aggressive.)

I try to never post a controversial thought on Acts, Mark, folk is so easily offended any more. Cool

First, I appreciate the work you and others do monitoring the board. It seems it could be taxing and time consuming.

Second, I don't think you, Doyle, or anyone else is stupid.

Three, are you saying there is not a paradigm or criteria for pruning? Are you saying the standard is subjective?

Of course not... you aren't saying anything; you are writing.

I am tired and 100 years from now no one will care.

It seems it took a lot less time than that.

Good idea. It's high in magnesium, which is often lacking in our diets.
