The Colquitt Cty Packers finished last year 1st in state and 3rd in the nation. This year they have not lost a game and are 3rd in state.
The Packers got their name from a swine packing company (Swift & Co) that was one of the largest employers in Moultrie Ga. for several years.
They lost their star running back just before school started. He and a few more boys allegedly killed a man during an armed robbery.
They broke into one home and stole a gun and attempted to break into another when the mans neighbor who happened to be his son tried to stop them and they shot and killed him.
The boy had a bright future ahead of him. Now he sets in a jail cell awaiting trial.
