I sounds like it is time for Lee, and a number of universities to consider breaking away from CCCU. Why be in the same organization with those who compromise on such a basic moral issue? Jesus did not like it when churches compromised on tolerating those who taught people to commit sexual immorality. An entire organization of Christian schools who stand firm on this issue may be a more powerful force in dealing with government-related issues than one that has schools in it that compromise. _________________ Link |

CCCU has NOT altered its position. Why break away from an organization you are aligned with and part of the strength of? It is two member institutions that have gone with an independent position. Further, the headline verbage of a near-split is not borne out in the accompanying actions, the exit of the two schools whose policy was inclusion, or the exit (prematurely, it seems) of the two schools who left over the lingering indecision to meet and clarify the already stated position of the leadership of CCCU. _________________ Live an epiK life!

Wise move from Conn |
doyle |
It seems to me that Paul Conn made a wise move to get in front of the story and discuss the article which states that only two of the 120 members of the CCCU association, have opted for approval of gay faculty.
Put the headline another way and it would read, "118 CCCU Member Schools Continue To Support Traditional Marriage."
The heading of this thread gives an insinuation that it was Lee U that is involved. It is involved ONLY in that it continues to support traditional marriage.
Very surprised that one of the reported schools that now approves gay faculty, is a Mennonite college. Is that story accurate?

Maybe they should be talking about kicking out the school that compromised out or just re-writing their by-laws in such a way that would automatically exclude schools that compromised. Hiring practicing homosexual faculty and requiring that they be 'gay married' is crossing a major line. _________________ Link |
