Post How many places have Acts posters lived? fortheleastofthese
I believe that the places we live shape our worldview. I'm curious to know how many people on this board have spent a significant amount of time in other countries...And how has that impacted your ministry/worldview?

I was born and raised in one southern State of the US...went to several third world countries on the continents of South America and Africa for extended periods of time. Also lived in the South Pacific for four years where I met my wife before returning home to the states.

Growing up in the Bible belt I fit right in with everything that was going on...I can honestly say that sometimes I'm a little freaked out by how distant I have become to the doctrinal roots I was brought up with...It's crazy how a worldview is shaped by our environment just as much (if not more) than by the Holy Spirit.

I can think of 23 or so 'permanent addresses' off the top of my head. At least 9 states and three countries including the US.

Here are some states I've lived in:
North Carolina
New York
Pennsylvania
California
Kentucky Louisiana
Georgia
Ohio
Hawaii

I don't know whether to count Texas or Florida. My family was going to move to Florida when I was a kid, and I started school there, but my dad just stayed there and worked and sent us back to NC and came home on weekends until something else opened up.

We've lived in

Mississippi
Florida
SC
Wisconsin
Indiana
Maryland
NC (in & out of several times)

And that doesn't count the nine years we were "on the road" in a motorhome several months of the year.
