Post Are you unconditionally a supporter of Israel irrespective of their actions? caseyleejones
Israel has a right to defend itself. How far? Is God on Israels side regardless of what they do?

Should Israel be accountable for any bad actions or are they the apple of God's eye.

Yes, a tad bit of hyperbole here. But, is a born again Christian required to support all of Israels acts?

Israel has the right to defend itself against any current or future aggressors by whatever means it deems necessary to protect its citizens. Period.

I do not believe however that Israel is entitled to a “free pass” to commit war crimes or atrocities during wartime. I am not suggesting they have done so in their decades long struggle with Hamas, because clearly Hamas has done these things against Israel.

We in the West, especially under the current administration in the White House, are trying to impose our own values and conditions upon Israel in hopes that she will relent and call an end to the current war against Hamas. What we can never understand however is what it’s like living every day with a centuries old enemy living a literal stones throw away who has sworn to eliminate you at all costs.

By attacking Israel in the manner in which it did, Hamas basically told the world that THEY would violate any human right and commit any atrocity as they wished in order to inflict as much damage against Israel as possible. This seems to have been forgotten by most of the world.

This is going to play out just as God has decreed it must because ultimately He is going to come and fight for Israel. What is right or wrong in the eyes of men will continue to be topics of debate until He comes, but God is not swayed by the court of public opinion.

Israel, like any other nation, has the right to defend itself against aggression, no matter the the ethnicity of their citizens. If Gaza wants peace, then Hamas, which is the government and armed forces of Gaza needs to surrender. No more attacking Israel, no more rockets (remember how many they were sending even before October 7th) and submit to disarming and war crime trails of their leaders (those in Gaza and those outside of Gaza).

Before October 7th of last year, Israel was nearing a civil uprising, as conservatives and liberals were ripping the country apart. I do not believe that just because you are born Jewish that there is no consequences in transgressing the Bible, even if all you claim as inspired is the Old Testament.

The current secular state of Israel is not the Israel revealed in God's Word. While I do believe that the Promised Land is for the Jewish people, sin in the land brings judgement. So when Tel Aviv is known as the San Francisco of the East because of it pro LGBT... acceptance and advocacy, as well as many of the Jews in Israel being non-religious socialist, they are not except or protected from God's wrath.

The "peaceful" concert that was attacked in southern Israel was centered around a Buddha statue. Jews building idols in the Promised Land has never been acceptable nor do I support their right to do so.

taking the spiritual/Biblical aspects out of th equation. We have a democratic ally in a region that is 99% totalitarian, communist and murderous of anyone that doesn't fit their religion, and a usurper in the land called "palestinians" who never existed there until post antiquity, but are actually Arab Egyptians, who routinely commit atrocities against the majority Jews there after being treated nothing but fairly. Israel's biggest mistake with "Palestine" was to give them any autonomy at all. As a pragmatic, I think Israel is 100% correct in ENDING Hamas. Yes, there are tragic things that happen in war, and in this one most are the result of cowardly, inhuman Hamas using their own civilians as shields. That is on them.

Concerning the spiritual side, i wouldn't raise my hand against Israel, and we should 100% support their right to exist. But I don't think we need to give them so much money, if they choose war, they should have to pay for it. If they are attacked, I believe, as an ally, we should assist them. But not in an offensive (and domestic) war, which this is. Just my thoughts, what are yours? (as Doyle used to say)

Romans 11 NKJV:13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.
15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,
18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in."
20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.
22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins."
28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.
29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,
31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?"
35 "Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?"
36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

I’m really curious what Eli Bonila Winterfest speaker Whose dad is on the Lee board thoughts are about Israel - Palestine crisis? Where does Preston sprinkle stand on this issue?

Curious because it seems like there’s some fence riding In the political evangelical circuit.

What are their thoughts? Should there be a wall on the Gaza strip and the West Bank? Should there be a wall between the United States and Mexico? Seems like the office of migration crisis management should have an answer for all evangelical ministries and lobbyists.

God quite obviously isn’t unconditionally supportive of Israel or of the Church.

That said, the modern nation of Israel is largely unbelieving even with regard to the faith of their fathers, not to mention the fact that God has taken the kingdom from them for the time being and given it to the largely Gentile Church (those truly faithful in Christ Jesus).

Nevertheless, compared to the followers of Mohammed, the modern nation of Israel is indeed worthy of the support of all other freedom-loving nations of the world.

Here's a question.

Are we grafted into:

Political Israel?

Orthodox Israel?

Messianic Israel?

Just wondering.

I think you’re splitting hairs. I am grafted into the vine of the Abrahamic covenant. What that means is the blessings Of the seed of Abraham For following the Lord God Jehovah are on me because of Acceptance of the sacrifice of Jesus’s blood.

I look at the pre-Jesus covenant like trying to talk to God, on a payphone where instead of we pay with quarters we play with the blood of Animal Sacrifice That can never perfectly cover the cost of the phone call . But because of Jesus’s shed, blood all may come to God because the blood makes us right with the father. We have a direct connection with no limits, unlimited contact because of the blood covering our sins.

So, it's Messianic Israel.

Right answer.

The Church has not replaced Israel.

Messianic Israel is the Church.

Israel is our ally in holding back the Islamic caliphate.

How we keep letting all these Israel and America haters into our nation is ridiculous.

That is why Israel should be supported. No other reason needed.

I pretty much agree here.

I cannot see us telling someone how to protect their country, when we want others to keep their mouths shut at what we do or will do.

We are in no position to tell them what to do.

Can you imagine the pressure on such a small nation to have existed to this day.

To be honest I do not know how I feel about the news reports. After awhile anyone would get tired of rockets being lobbed at you. and an unprovoked attack was a good reason, I guess. ???
