Habits are developed by repeatedly choosing (devoting oneself to) a particular direction. The longer one continues in Christâ€™s teaching/word, the more solidified oneâ€™s character becomes in righteous behavior. Without this development, Christian character would be impossible to sustain, and would be as unstable as the waves of the sea. In the same way, the longer one continues down a path of evil, the more entrenched oneâ€™s evil habits become. Thankfully, we can turn from the path of evil in repentance and faith and be restored to the image of God for which we were first created.

Ever hear of highway hypnosis?

For example, have you ever been driving for a period of time and realize you cannot recall anything about the journey. You've been traveling on mental automatic pilot. At that time it's a good idea to shake yourself and refresh yourself.
Too many believers are on their journey suffering from highway hypnosis.
