Sale Sail Sell...they get confused sometimes. Although I think we can blame it all on the cursed auto spell corrector.

On a side note, I saw a car lot today with a sign out front that read: "FOR SELL"

I saw a sign today that was supposed to say "Do Not Block Gate." However, it was written on two separate signs. They assumed, I suppose, that you would read the signs together, top to bottom, left to right. Unfortunately because there was so much space between the signs, it appeared to say "Do Block" on the left gate and "Not Gate" on the right.

Okay, if you say so. Confused

Post I love playing "Grammar Nazi"! Aaron Scott
I consider most of these posts "informal," so I don't get uptight with minor typos, etc. But when someone starts playing on me...OH, THE JOY!!! It means I am unleashed from my restraints, I can finally let out those imps that are impatient with the slightest miscue (e.g., not placing a comma within the quote marks).

Oh, let's play! Let's!

I hope folks are "getting" the point of the cartoon: the man does the typo on purpose to give someone else a little "meaning" when she finds the error. I do not really identify with the woman with the cat in the cartoon.

Compartmentalization works really well for some people. Smile

I'm mostly the woman in the bun, though I really appreciate the thought process of the guy. I do get a lot of amusement out of misplaced modifiers if they make something sound preposterous like "We saw a deer driving to church."
