Post Pastor said he was "Out Visiting" an "It Hit the Spot." Old Time Country Preacher
These two little stories is the honest truth, the are not made up:

1. I knowed this ole feller who loved to fish an he was a pastor too. He got this bright idea an named his Bass boat "Out Visiting." When folk would call his house an ask fer him, she would say "He is out visiting."

2. Another preacher told me that some a his church folk would bring homemade food by his house. An a lot of it was not good. He said he took a magic marker an made a little spot in the bottom a the garbage can. So, when folk brought food by that they didn't like, they would through it in the garbage can. This way, if folk asked him at church how the food was, he would say, "It hit the spot." His purpose was so he wouldn't offend nobody.

Ever wondered how many bass boats an golf carts has been named stuff like:

In Conference
In Counseling
In Prayer
Out Visiting
At the Hospital
In a Meeting
Talking to the Overseer
With a Family
Etc...

Truth is tough sometimes. Twould be nice to have that planned.
My wife and I were having a PIcnic in the parsonage yard with M.Fred TAylor (Now RIP). In North Missouri folks eat C arp, they sell it in stores believe it or not. A lady of the church had given Bro TAylor a fresh C arp, filleted. Sis Tayor had cooked it like she would Perch. WE had just sat down and M. Fred said, "Lord help me this is terrible." I tasted and agreed. Just a minute later the Sister walked up, "How's the fish?"
I am a brave soul. I got up from the picnic table and said, "I am going in and get more slaw," and in my mind I said and throw this fish away.

M. Fred finally said, "Sister we must have let it spoil this is bad."
Without getting mad the sister said, "YOu probably cooked it wrong."Imma tell you C ARP cannot be cooked right! But my pastor did not lie!
Cool
