Post pulpit language Cojak
I have attended church services at a Religious Rehab center. It is Pentecostal based. I have mentioned before the language of the pastor. Now fact is this is a service for addicts, drugs and alcohol. My son is court ordered there.
I am retired military, very familiar with a base language. But this is a service that families attend also. I guess I can understand some strong language in the pulpit, but it is tough for me to hear "I am tired of the Bulls--t from you guys. I am just Pi--ed off!"
My wife was floored of course and I did think it is crass. I understand although my mama would say that is cursing I don't think, but it is base at the least.

Do you feel the language is proper to "GET ATTENTION" from a Gospel pulpit?

I do not believe that using such language in the pulpit should ever be condoned. That so-called preacher is a representative of Christ, preaching the greatest message ever told. He sounds to me like a frustrated, angry social worker who is not getting the desired reaction from those he is responsible for. I wonder where the love of Christ is to be found in such a message?

No, I don't. I doubt it helps at all.

Well said, I felt the same way but you expressed it better. I cut most of the post to keep this shorter. I do agree.
The best your way...

I've never been in the military. If you go to a service where the chaplain starts cussing and you walk out when he starts, do they court martial you? Acts-perienced Poster
