Post Beth Moore NO LONGER Baptist - Splits over Trump popularity among Baptists News & Views
https://dailycaller.com/2021/03/10/beth-moore-split-trump-sexism-southern-baptist/

PART OF her statement: “At the end of the day, there comes a time when you have to say, this is not who I am,” she said. A New York Times bestselling author, Moore said she has also ended her publishing deal with Lifeway Christian Resources, though it will continue to sell her books.

Having been one of the more prominent female figures within the Southern Baptist denomination, Moore grew increasingly critical of the denomination in recent years, particularly after the election of former President Donald Trump.

In a 2018 interview with The Atlantic, Moore was cited as believing “that an evangelical culture that demeans women, promotes sexism, and disregards accusations of sexual abuse enabled Trump’s rise.” Recently, she condemned “Trumpism” as both “astonishingly seductive” and “dangerous to the saints of God,” and warned against Christian nationalism.

Post Finally! An Evangelical with Integrity! FG Minister
Thank you Beth Moore for saying with a loud voice what my small voice has been saying for five years. Evangelicals looked the other way when it came to Trump's shenanigans. He gave them what they wanted, so evangelicals gave him cover. It was disgusting. I'm glad he's gone.

My dislike for Trump has nothing to do with his policies - I liked most all of then. He played evangelicals and now we are left with QAnon and the Trump Cult. He decimated the Republican Party and we now have to run candidates who are far fringe right just to get elected in Republican districts. It will take 12-16 years to get Trump out of the GOP bloodline. Yes, the GOP needs to grow a spine, but not a fake spine built on nutty ideas and people like Marjorie Taylor Greene.

I’m guessing she still considers herself a Baptist. There are several kinds of Baptists out there. I have wondered how much longer she could continue to identify with the Southern Baptists, who generally do not affirm women preaching or teaching men. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

Post Trump did more for religious freedom than ANY previous president MikeBarnes
Donald Trump has done more to protect and promote freedom of religion than any other president in living memory. After nearly a decade of fending off federal intrusions into the free exercise of religion, Americans of faith finally had a consistent ally in the White House.

During his first year in office, for instance, President Trump signed an executive order advancing religious freedom and empowering freedom of speech, ensuring religious institutions can freely exercise their First Amendment rights to advocate for causes that reflect their values.

It also checked the abuses of the Johnson Amendment, a provision in the tax code that prevented nonprofit organizations—including churches—from freely exercising their First Amendment rights.

In 2018, the Department of Health and Human Services established a new Conscience and Religious Freedom division to protect religious freedom of conscience in health care matters, fulfilling one of President Trump’s key campaign promises from the 2016 election—his pledge to roll back the infringements on religious freedom imposed by the Obama administration.

That same year, the president signed an executive order establishing the White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative to provide recommendations on the administration’s policy agenda as it affects faith-based communities. This initiative will guarantee faith-based community organizations and programs have a voice in the White House, enlisting their help to formulate policy recommendations that will further secure religious liberty in this country.

This isn’t just a matter of principle; it’s also practical public policy. Faith-based organizations, churches and initiatives play an important role in alleviating poverty, feeding the homeless and performing other vital services for communities across the United States.

The Trump administration also finalized a rule granting more flexibility for federal employees whose religious beliefs require them to abstain from work on certain days. This measure ensures federal employees are not penalized for practicing their religious beliefs, a central component of the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious freedom.

I voted for him based primarily on his upcoming picks for the Supreme Court. I assumed he would have 2 picks. Turned put to be 3. While they have been disappointing in some cases , in the matter of religion they have very good for evangelicals.
Among Donald Trump’s greatest legacies, at least when it comes to defending religious liberties, will be his enduring influence over the courts.

During President Trump’s first two years in office, the Department of Justice filed more “friend-of-the-court” briefs in religious liberty cases than either President Obama or President Bush did in their first two years in office.

So to Beth Moore and other posters, I say fie on you. I didn't like some of Trump's comments but I would vote for him again over Bush et al.

The cult of Trump has suckered in many good people. It’s very sad to see. He is an evil, evil man. Beth Moore is spot on.

Post Trumps Policies Were The Best of Any Prez In My Adult Lifetime doyle
Donald Trump's policies were the best of any President in my adult life. He lowered taxes, kept gas prices low, helped America become energy independent so successfully until America began exporting energy.

He worked diligently trying to keep taxpayer-funding from going to baby-killing organizations, kept China on the defensive, did NOT start any new wars, championed the First Amendment, the 2nd Amendment and religious liberty.

In spite of his tumultuous and often chaotic struggles with the media, he established an immigration policy based on merit, and worked tirelessly to help companies hire American citizens instead of giving 75 percent of high tech jobs to people from other countries.

Trump continuously encouraged companies to stop sending American jobs overseas and offered incentives if they would bring jobs back to the U.S.

That 75 percent stat above is from the news today (Saturday) that tech companies are now already hiring 75 percent of new employees from overseas; Americans last. In addition, under Trump polices, the Stock Market set the highest and longest-running increase in history; good for Wall Street and Main Street.

Employment stats were higher than in history for blacks, whites, Hispanics and Asians. Unemployment was lower than anytime in 50 years. New housing starts skyrocketed. The U.S. military was incredibly strengthened and given new and updated equipment.

If you have taken, or plan to take the COVID vaccine, thank Donald Trump. The people in charge now laughed when he said it could be done rather quickly. They claimed it would be three years. It had never been done quicker than that in history.

There is nothing evil about any of the above. All were beneficial to the country. I hear Jimmy Carter was one of the nicest people you could meet, but under the leadership of the nice guy, the country slid into decay.

Trump didn't come across as that nice, but he got things done for the country. I prefer Trump's policies over anything I've seen so far from the new Administration.

Now that taxpayer money will once again be used to kill babies, millions of them, to see Christians call those who attempted to decrease that slaughter, as being "evil," is astoundingly disturbing. With the words "Thou Shalt Not Murder" ringing in their ears from the God of the universe, they prefer those who champion killing babies up to the day of birth.

Post I heartily concur Doyle, MikeBarnes
I could name even more positive things Trump did. I merely mentioned a couple of reasons for evangelicals to be for him. His stance on abortion was singular for me above all the rest. Thus his nominees for Supreme Court were people who would stand firm against abortion and the tilt of the leftists on the court, however I must say I begin to wonder...
But that wasn't trumps fault.

Maybe not if a really strong leader rose up in the Republican party who had a strong vision who was able to unite the Republicans behind it, and the charisma to unify. Ronald Reagan was imperfect human being, but he had a clear vision for what his administration was about. It wasn't totally unique, but it was clear and you knew his philosophy on the major areas of government. It had an impact for decades.

Democrats are pushing a crazy agenda. I wonder if really over half of the country has gone crazy with the transgenders in the bathroom agenda, thinking it is okay to mutilate confused children for life, getting rid of girl's sports and the safety of girl's bathrooms. It may be the case. It seems like they have convinced the majority, at least of young people on same-sex sexual perversion. And 'socialism' is not a slightly bad word anymore with a lot of people. There is plenty of conservative backlash, but it is heard through conservative outlets that conservatives listen it.

Post Trump Policies Were Great! FG Minister
I don't think any of us are against Trump policies, so you pro-Trumpers are making the wrong argument. We agree on his policies - feel free to list more of them - no argument here. We are talking about the man - Donald J. Trump. He is a scoundrel, a charlatan, and a snake oil salesman. He gave evangelicals what we wanted in exchange for votes. A true politician.

But the cost was evangelical integrity. Evangelicals had to overlook his lying, infidelity, disloyalty, untrustworthiness, and his overall disregard for anything holy. Evangelicals sold their souls to get treats from The Donald. But the treats have cost you guys your souls. If Trump had been the same exact person, but his policies had favored the left, you would have railed against his as the worst person ever to occupy the White House. You like him because of the treats he gave you - but you are totally blind to this rotten man.

May I add one other thing - the only born again person of any stature working at the White House was a man named Mike Pence. Trump essentially put a death contract out on his very loyal Vice-President on January 6th when he told his followers that Mike Pence was afraid to do his job and reinstate Trump as president. Trump followers were chanting on January 6th that they wanted to execute Mike Pence. If Mr. Pence is ever assassinated by one of Trump's followers, the blood will be on the hands of Donald J. Trump. How in the world you people can support Donald Trump is absolutely beyond me.

I'm not sure why she would leave the Southern Baptists over this at this point. Maybe she has to deal with a lot of criticism in other areas also. It is odd timing to make this decision over Trump.

The article says, "Friday that “she is no longer a Southern Baptist.” She also told them “I am still a Baptist, but I can no longer identify with Southern Baptists."

So she still considers herself Baptist.

Post Few, if any of us, liked Trump... Aaron Scott
But the alternative was even worse!

If we had not voted in Trump, we would not have had his policies. The truth is that pretty much every president since Truman (with the possible exceptions of Ford, Carter, and Reagan) have had some pretty serious stains on them.

The left made sure Trump's flaws were played for the whole world over and over. And Trump deserved to be shamed since he would certainly shame others.

The only thing worse than Trump...would have been Hillary or Biden.

I'm mostly referring to her flip-flopping and compromise on homosexuality.
