Post For your church, when it is over! Cojak
As a member I see the dwindling numbers at church and wonder what lasting affect this will have on the smaller churches.
I have conflicting thoughts just from my family.
i. My wife truly misses in-house services, the camaraderie and friendship as well as Christian fellowship. She actually watches two services on the net each Sunday.

2. I wonder how many people are like me. I am enjoying seeing our church services on the net (while in Florida). My hearing says to me, this internet service is good for me. And I hope it is continued after the VIRUS is history. I also get to see and know my son is attending regularly. He sits just inside the camera lenses and I can see the back of his head. LOL I am questioning this old man (me). Will I want to stay home and not attend in person? Not saying I will, but I may lean that way. How many others will feel the same.
Not sure if my pastor reads here, but if he does, Hey Bro. Love you and will support my church. Smile Embarassed

PS:
The hearing problem is not only mine. Several times I has asked other seniors after church, what did the pastor say about xxxxxx. The replies are often the same as mine. "I have no idea."

It is a widespread problem. We 'hearing challenged' folk can often hear and understand a pastor with the camera zoomed in on him. I remember vividly the first time I realized this. We attended a COG in Ocala once. The wide screens on the wall zoomed in on the pastor allowed me to listen and read the pastors lips at the same time. MANY seniors are in the same situation.

Also I have noticed like me, many of my peers head for the door at dismissal because they cannot converse in a crowd. It is confusing. Confused

Post We should be aware of the hearing impaired roughridercog
For example, much of the music comes through as distortion due to the volume level of the PA. Mute the hearing aids and the distortion is lessened. Plus there are tonal problems. I have difficulties with higher frequencies and women's voices.
I endeavor to face a congregation, slow down a bit and use lower tones when I speak.
Plus if you use plenty of notes and illustrations on a screen it can help them.

I thought I knew on pastor well enough that we could talk. I mentioned in sort of a joking manner that , "Brother I can't hear fast enough sometimes."
His response was, "God gives it to me so fast I cannot slow down, he was dead serious."

Hey RR, I got to hear you only once, but I was impressed with your delivery in the pulpit and in the round table discussion you had in SS. We have mentioned that many times what a good rapport you had with your people, it was easy to see how much they loved you and the family.

Merry Christmas to you all. Cool
