Post Mamie Alice Barwick Carolyn Smith
For any of you who knew the Barwicks, Sis. Mamie Alice Barwick (more fondly known as "Sarge") went to her reward today. Her husband Walter was a pastor and overseer in NC (and other states, as well.) She directed the NC State Minister's Wives Choir and played the piano almost every campmeeting.

Please keep Bro Barwick and their daughter Davida in your prayers...

I'll post funeral info if anyone is interested...

I am FB friends with her daughter, Davida, who is around my age. She has not been doing well for a while. Bro. Barwick has been her caregiver, and he is 90.

Such a wonderful couple. They did so much for God's people, and Sis Barwick taught a whole generation of us NC kids to play and sing. What a lady! Only eternity will reveal the impact she made on ministers/singers my age!

Post My Memory of Sister Barwick FG Minister
My cousin and I were in WNC Youth Camp and the Bro. Barwick was Evangelism Director, I think. We were alone in the Charlotte tabernacle, and my cousin went up to the grand piano on the stage and started playing The Entertainer. Sister Barwick heard him from somewhere and came in and shouted out his name and said "don't you play that song on the piano!! That is a sanctified piano!!" I loved to hear her play the piano and always had the highest respect for both of them. Acts-celerater

I love that story! Sounds just like her. She had that side but she was also sweet and gentle, a real Christian lady! And mercy, she could make those keys talk!
