Post Prophetic words Patrick Harris
So I've been watching and reading a couple of people who are more than happy to give a Prophetic dream or word from God almost every day on social media.

Serious question for discussion:

When 90% of the prophetic words are political in nature and not directed at changing ungodly behavior or living according to a Biblical or Godly standard why should we give them any credence as being a word from God.

Who knows.... they typically say these are the things that God showed me that is going on behind the scenes.

They are general prophetical words that they say God gave me this dream that shows me the political person is bad and this one is a soon coming leader or this one appeared as a a bird in my dream (just an example).

My point is that there is no spiritual aspect to the dream only politics.

Post Link has a very valid question. caseyleejones
At the same time, the Word does not forbid such. You say 90% of them are political. Are you an ardent follower of them to validate that number?

The reason why I say that is FB and the net is a public platform where anyone can read what they say. I remember growing up prophets in the church not only addressed church related issues but politics.

I also think there is a vast difference between the OT prophet and NT prophet. The OT prohet office has been done away with. I don't need the mouthpiece of God like the OT.

Back to your question, while I'm a follower of Chuck Pierce or Jeremiah Johnson, I do kind of see what they say from time to time. It would seem some of the prophets nailed it in 2019 about a plague of sort starting in January but dissipating around Easter....

Post Here's a non exhaustive list jimmyjon
Of 7 things you can use to determine if a prophecy is genuine. As I said it is certainly not an exhaustive list but it covers the basics. Old Testament prophecy foretold and warned and rebuked. I still believe those elements can be part of any NT prophecy but that said, according to 1 Cor. 14 the primary emphasis of NT prophecy is to exhort, edify and comfort the individual/body of Christ. More forthtelling than foretelling but not always.

7 SIMPLE, SCRIPTURAL STEPS TO JUDGE PROPHETS &
PROPHECY
1 John 4:1
1. WHAT KIND OF FRUIT IS BEING PRODUCED BY THE PROPHET’S
MINISTRY/LIFE? WHAT KIND OF FRUIT WILL THIS PROPHETIC WORD
PRODUCE?
Questions to ask: What will happen if I obey this Word (will it cause damage to my
life/family/finances etc)? Is the individual who is operating in this Gift a godly person?
Does their life line up with God’s Word (understanding that while God allowed Saul to
prophecy in a backslidden state, that is not the normal situation)? See Matt. 7:15; 2 Cor.
11:13-15 & 2 Pet. 2:1-3
2. DOES THE PROPHETIC WORD GLORIFY CHRIST OR DETRACT FROM
HIM? See John 16:14; 1 John 4:1-3; 1 Cor. 12:3
3. DOES THE PROPHET/PROPHETIC WORD COMFORT, EDIFY OR EXHORT
ME/THE BODY? See 1 Cor. 14:3
4. DOES THE PROPHETIC WORD LINE UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD? See 2
Peter 1:21
5. WAS THE PROPHETIC WORD FULFILLED? See Deut. 18:20-22; Acts 21:11
6. DOES THE PROPHET/PROPHETIC WORD BRING CONFUSION OR PEACE?
See 1 Cor. 14:33
7. DOES THE PROPHET/PROPHETIC WORD BEAR WITNESS WITH YOUR
SPIRIT AND THE HOLY SPIRIT? 1 John 4:1-2; 2:20, 27

If the Word is the standard for such, those 7 points seem solid.
