Retiring: Three ministry couples; Ronnie & Beverly, Keith & Brenda, and Ray & Pam. |
JLarry |
I know three couples that have retired in the last 60 days. All are originally from Georgia. These men have, I'm sure have more than 100 years of combined ministry. I bless you, Ronnie and Beverly, Keith and Brenda, and Ray and Pam. I pray you will be in good health and continue to minister as the Lord provides the opportunity.
I also prayed for all my ministry friends. I prayed that you will have the courage to preach the TRUTH in LOVE.
I well remember the days when many preachers preached the truth, but some with not much love. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

Yes it is good to take note of the ones who carried the gospel. We all know that 'Retirement' for the preacher is usually just leaving a pastorate, allowing more time with family and being the visiting minister without the extra load of the church responsibilities.
My dad was one retiree who should have NEVER. He needed a Sabbatical. After about 4 weeks he missed HIS Church. God Bless the ones who are READY to retire and enjoy their wife, kids and grand kids. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Some days I want to do this forever. Some days I'm glad that 65 is closer than 35. _________________ Hate to say it, but its true

Let me suggest something ST, Look for something to fill those busy hours you are putting in now. Something you and your wife can enjoy together. Not every minister can plan on preaching a couple weekends a month anymore because the pastor many times only has two spots a week, and it is tough to share.
I knew a retiring official who enjoyed going to the very small churches to minister w/o offerings and he was a great blessing.
Another loved to golf and fish, he found out that fishing was much cheaper. LOL
Another Planned to travel in an RV, He ran with me for 4-5 years in the winter months and loved it. I am about to quit myself after 22 years full time.
All I am saying is HAVE A PLAN...... It is very important..... I found some very good advice at retirement seminars... Not sure if the church still has them.... _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

I am not retired. I work every day in my small business.
And I am available to preach. I live less than 30 minutes of the So GA Campground. I would be happy to come preach any time with no financial pressure. I once threatened to go to camp meeting with a sign that reads. "Will preach for food".
I promise never to abuse the Word if God nor harm His people.
