Post This Easter, remember your fellow evangelist and missionary Dr.Acts
Your faithful evangelist is sitting at home with a trunk full with sermons and tank full with gas and no church to go to. Social distancing has killed the revival season. But the family of the evangelist too have children that would want to enjoy Easter, just like yours do.

Your faithful missionary cannot come home for Easter. Though tickets are cheap now, most international boarders are closed. Missionary families are locked down in a foreign land not knowing if General assembly will happen so they can make it back. But the family of the missionary too have children that would want to enjoy Easter, just like yours do.

Many pastors started ministry serving as evangelist or missionary
This Easter, don't forget your fellow evangelist and missionary

Amen.

And we need to remember other brethren in the church, too.

How are churches keeping up with needs within the congregation during lockdown? Our church has a hardship fund and asked for people to let them know if they were facing difficulties.

We also need to remember our families. My parents are doing okay, financially. My wife had some relatives who had needs. I have been looking for unemployment statistics, and the official stats were still the low pre-Corona numbers. Fortune's site says the real numbers could hit 14.7%. Actually, that's pretty low considering how extreme things are in the economy.

Great reminder, Dr.Acts.

Some might be wondering what missionaries are even doing right now with so much of the world on some form of stay-at-home order. How do you stay busy in missions work when you can't leave your home? I can speak for the missions organization that I serve. Our mission is to train ministers, plant churches, and provide humanitarian aid and community outreach. In 2019, God helped our organization train 4,118 ministers, plant 228 fellowships, establish 30 churches, and provide humanitarian aid and community outreach to 3,920 people from 26 countries on 4 continents.

During this time under stay-at-home orders, our team continues to minister regularly through video teleconference (VTC) software like Google Hangouts Meet and Zoom. Additionally, we have focused more on completing the administrative duties that need to be done and for which there never seems to be enough time to complete. We have been writing new teaching material, holding VTC staff strategy sessions, and have found this to be an extraordinarily productive time to rekindle past connections as the people who are often too busy to respond to our emails and phone calls have also found themselves with more time on their hands to respond. We have started new online teaching classes both to train ministers and to teach youth. We have begun translating our teaching material into the Khemer language in anticipation of being able to teach in the near future in Cambodia, either through VTC or in person. God has been faithful in showing us how to pivot to continue to work toward maximizing the investment that people are making in missions through our organization.

Just as pastors in the US find themselves in a unique situation during which ministry has changed but still continues, God is helping missionaries around the world find effective ways to continue His work in response to His call in our lives. Thanks so much for this great reminder, and thanks for continuing to support missionaries in prayer and finances.

Post Does anyone know of full-time evangelists? Aaron Scott
Specifically, not retired ministers who still preach, but those who depend fully upon offerings? If you can name some, I'd be appreciative. Thanks. Hon. Dr. in Acts-celeratology
