I think you meant to say..... But that does not make it a racist "state"?

Yes. Thank you for catching that omission.

Post Israel is one of the most ... Mat
Israel is one of the most liberal and secular countries in the world, and the in the middle east it holds the top position. From what I have read they recognize same-sex marriage, most Israelis are not religious and if there are Christian Churches they are made up of non-Jews. Israel was established for and is still controlled by Jews, many of whom have strong socialist leanings. In a secret meeting with an Israeli general, well it was not so secret, as it was held in downtown Charleston, SC at Hymans Seafood (Why are Jews selling shellfish? Because they are secular), he made it clear the Jews of Israel are worried about how the Arab/Muslim citizens are multiplying while the Jews are declining in population percentages. Israel needs a revival, but what they will get is the anti-Christ in a doomed temple.

But is this really even Israel of the Bible? I need to investigate this for myself, but some say that 90% of Palestinians have more Semitic blood than so-called Israelis. Is this true or false? Would these people pass the Biblical test of what constitutes a Jew? Another serious consideration would be, how does one distinguish the 12 tribes now? This is a pertinent consideration.

I think the Bible is pretty clear that in the last days there will actually be 2 regatherings of the Jews into the promised land - the first is what we are seeing now, the regathering "in unbelief". That's why you have the situation quoted above concerning how "unholy" the people of national Israel really are in this "regathering in unbelief". They do not believe (by an overwhelming majority) that Jesus is the Messiah.

But we shouldn't be surprised because one of the purposes of the Tribulation and their next disbursement into exile is to drive them to their knees in acceptance of Jesus who will save them at the end of the Tribulation! This regathering in unbelief (before the Tribulation) is seen in Ezekiel 20:33–38. “With wrath poured out” is a descriptive reference to the tribulation.

Thus, in order for this to occur in history, Israel must be back in the land before the tribulation. The current nation of Israel is in the process of fulfilling this passage.

Ezekiel confirms this in 22:17–22 where it shows us that this time, the Lord is “going to gather you into the midst of Jerusalem” and use the fire of the tribulation to purge out the unfaithful. The Lord is going to “gather you [Israel] and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you will be melted in the midst of it” (Ezek. 22:21).

And then, at the end of the 7 year Tribulation there will be the Second World-Wide Gathering in Belief. Many passages in the Bible speak of Israel’s regathering, in belief, at the end of the tribulation, in conjunction with Christ’s second coming, in preparation for commencement of the millennium. These references are not being fulfilled by the modern state of Israel.

Some of the citations include: Deut. 4:29-31; 30:1-10; Isa. 27:12-13; 43:5-7; Jer. 16:1415; 31:7-10; Ezek. 11:14-18; Amos 9:14-15; Zech. 10:8-12; Matt. 24:31 and many more.

Matthew 24:31, records a future regathering of Israel, this time in belief. “And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other” (Matt. 24:31). This is said to take place after the tribulation (Matt. 24:29), which would be the second coming.

Most of the above comes from Arnold Fructenbaum and also Thomas Ice.

It seems that today "Semitic" is applied mostly to Jews, but when looking up the meaning, you get a broader range of thought that includes language as well. So Semites are descended form Noah's son Shem. Jews look to Abraham as their father, but Arabs also look to Abraham as their father. You have heard it said in church, "he's my brother by a different mother." Well, one could say that Arabs are Semites by both blood and language.
