I got to admit - it is pleasing to see a Democrat get the Republican treatment.
If you disagree with an African-American, or a homosexual, or a woman - it's only because you are a racist, homophobe, or sexist. It CAN'T possibly be you are disagreeing on principle.

It would be like a few neo-nazis getting elected as Republicans and somehow becoming the new direction of the entire party. Not NEARLY likely to happen on the right as it is ACTUALLY happening on the left. |

Are they, though? Pelosi got a great dig in over the weekend when she pointed out that for all their noise, the four freshman got four votes for their position on the immigration bill -- their own.
Twitter and social media will yass kween for AOC all day long, but I'm not at all convinced that represents the party as a whole. The House majority is a very moderate majority. For decades, the Dems have succeeded by campaigning as moderates and then governing as hard-left liberals. AOC, for all her innumerable flaws, is at least honest about who she is and what she believes, and that's a huge threat to the Democratic majority if what we see on Twitter and online doesn't represent the party as a whole. |

In some States though, there are few "normal" Democrats left. Just look at what the Georgis Dems nominated for Governor last time. The Georgia Dem Party has called for sandblasting the Confederate images off of Stone Mountain, making the possession of a Confederate flag illegal (even in your home), and requiring all men to report to the police every time they ejaculate.

You need to link to specific declarations from party-level organizations to back this stuff up.
I know Dem crazies have voiced support for each of these, and I am not disputing that the Dem party has far-left loons in it. I am disputing that the Georgia Democratic Party has called for any of these (with the exception of the first one, that's plausible), and am requesting proof for that claim. I could be misinformed, so I await evidence to correct me. |

| Dave, you can't be seriously suggesting that the Democratic party isn't turning hard left. Nearly every single candidate is trying to "out left" the others. True the front-runner is known as a "moderate" (he's not), but his lead is shrinking fast due to attacks from the others as being too white, too old, too "conservative", not "woke" enough, etc.. Certainly the media loves the 4 muslim communists more than anything they've seen in years. Even the preposterous Green-new-deal which was ridiculed even by the media at first, has now gotten so much traction that you can't watch the MSM without hearing brave new ideas on how to tweak it to work and "save the world". Sure, it will "never happen", but it doesn't need to. These people want to enact a ton of taxes to fund their utopian dreams and strangle private business and they know that all they have to do is threaten the most extreme and everyone will be willing to "compromise" to give them what they really want (just more taxes and less independence among the people). But of course this has been the carrot they've dangled for decades, now the young Turks like AOC have said basically that they are done with the promises and want to do all the crazy stuff for real. I worry that the gullible young voters might actually swing everything their way. This feels like everything I've read about the Bolsheviks 100 years ago. |

Then let me clarify my remarks. When I say "Dem Party" I am talking about members of the State Assembly. Let's not split hairs here.

Of course they are -- they are undergoing a 'Tea Party'-like experience that is being driven by a fringe that is threatening to become mainstream. Additionally, as I noted, Democrats have consistently campaigned as moderates and then governed as hard-left liberals.
Ask yourself why they need to campaign as moderates, and then read my first post again.
There is a very visible group in the Democrat party that is no longer interested in campaigning as moderates. My point was that there is likely still a significant disconnect between this group and mainstream Democratic voters, and will be until another 10-20 years of voter deaths occur.
Pelosi understands this is the case, which is why she is expending so much effort resisting AOC and her "squad".
Primaries are also a bad indication of who leads the party (though they are a good indication of the direction the party is going), as the fringe folks are the only people who are engaged right now. Whoever wins will take a hard turn back to the middle for the general election. |

Timing is everything!
Pelosi left them alone for 2+ years & she would love to not deal with them at all but there is a major problem ...Mr. Trump will most likely be re-elected in 2020 & Pelosi knows it.
She doesn't want the 4 freshmen brats to stink it up any more than they have been cause it turns off "middle of the road" democrats who might swing their vote to the conservatives again.
The 4 brats will really never face an uphill struggle politically in their ultra-safe districts so they are bold to do whatever they want to do & they don't care who they upset in doing it.
So what if medical coverage for everyone costs 10 trillion dollars.
So what if $1.5 trillion college debt is erased from the books.
So what if the new green deal is made law ...who needs cars, trucks & planes?
Socialism has been their goal for decades & they see an open window with this generation that defies all things related to God!
If Trump loses in 2020 Pelosi will let them run amuck & won't raise as much as an eyebrow at their antics.
But if Mr. Trump wins (which I'm positive he will) then you watch the fur fly. This country is going to need a really big suppository to flush the nonsense down the tubes!

Wow, just wow. Not sure if this one can be spun at all. Its like Trump was watching the Dems in a full-scale battle with one another and decided to run out on the field naked and scream "look at me!". I just can't defend this one. I don't think it makes him racist like CNN and everyone are obviously screaming, but I do think it makes him stupid (in this instance). |
