Post Discussion--using Scripture, difference between hope and faith roughridercog
Thought this would make a good thread to begin the week.

The Difference Between Hope and Faith....

There is hope...and then there is THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR.

Excellent start. Now let's see if we can bring out the scriptural differences in such a way that a new convert with no religious background could understand it. HOPE this gets interesting.

Post Quiet Wyatt
Hope obviously looks forward, as the confident expectation of good.

Faith looks to what God has done in the past as the basis for what God is doing in the present and will do in the future.

Faith and hope (and love) are really indivisible, like facets on a diamond.

That last statement I see in my heart, and also feel. BUT I would like to understand each. This is another thread that CAN help us 'unlearned' and I say that very seriously, because in my lifetime, in and out of religious settings this has always been 'cloudy'.

Hope...... I can understand (methinks), but Faith? not so much. Confused
