International Preaching Invitations on Your Own Dime |
Link |
Have any of you ever gotten international preaching invitations over Facebook from someone who expected you to pay for the ticket and your own expenses? I have from South Asia. My wife has, too. In her case, Pakistan, and in mine, Bangladesh. I hear it happens with churches from the Philippines and India do that, too.
I hear some churches hope you bring stuff for the poor, clothes, or whatever. I think some of the big ministries that raise funds in the US have 'trained' churches over like that. Maybe they think everyone in the US is rich. _________________ Link |

I have received several around the world via LinkedIn.
I simply tell them I do not have funds to travel. For the most part I don't hear from them again.
If an American minister wishes to preach in other countries the mission dept will set you up. At least the did in the 90's. I went to India two times. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

The "USA" is full of rich people is a prevalent teaching in poorer countries. and Of course by their standards we ARE rich. Visit outlying places in Mexico or any place in Haiti and the idea and opinions are obvious. Most USN seaports are the same with kids asking the rich sailor for money.
WE Americans over all GIVE to, and for the needy. I do know of churches and individuals who save and raise money to travel and take goods. At that though 'Buddy' Turner and wife come to mind. Buddy passed away last year I hope someone stepped up to fill his place in the wall. I would not know where to start.... so we give. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
