Who would you draft to run for overseer in 2020? (Hypothetically) |
MoonWalkingWithJesus |
Who would you draft to run for overseer in 2020? In my opinion the man for the job is Marty Baker. This guy has impacted the Church world so far beyond the local church and the church of God. Honestly we need him more then he needs us. The guy runs a tech company that revolutionized how tithes and offerings are received in the church. He would cement us to look towards the future. The question is would he do it? Why would he leave a highly successful church and company to take the reigns of a fledging denomination. It would defiantly be a step in a new direction for him, but I have no doubt in my mind he would do a fantastic job. Marty has the experience. _________________ Tis so Sweet to Moonwalk with JESUS. 😎🌔🌔👟👞👟👞

I think Marty could fix the problem with background checks and Cleveland. Since he runs a tech company. Maybe he could make the cog the invy of the Church world for technology.... Good thinking. |

Great list. All good choices. I would like to see Marty baker because the guy is somewhat of an outsider but not alien to our system. I think if he would grace/bless us with the opportunity he would be the fresh EYES the Church of God needs to go to the future. You got to understand churches from coast to coast using him as a giving consultant. Guys like Steven Furtick. _________________ Tis so Sweet to Moonwalk with JESUS. 😎🌔🌔👟👞👟👞 |

I don't know who Marty is. What state?
Another question, I thought the GO was elected for 4 years so would Tim Hill be eligible to run in 2020? |

I only know a few of the guys you listed personally, but you do think many of them would leave their churches to be a state overseer? I'm just not seeing that.
There's no way I'd leave a thriving church at 43 or 44 years old for state work only to find myself looking for work at 55. I suppose that the idea would be that they'd find a landing place in Cleveland, but that flies in the face of what many of those very guys are pushing for in our leadership merry-go-round. |

Not as much as the G.O. wants to believe it does. That's why having great systems and policies in place are so important. The G.O. is a manager, not a worker bee. _________________ “Hell will be filled with people that didn’t cuss, didn’t drink, and may even have been baptized. Why?
