Post Two Questions for Isa 58:12 Pastor Nations
.

After Jesus was crucified and placed in the tomb:

1. Where was He on the Sabbath?

2. Where was He on the first day of the week?

Where was Jesus on the Sabbath?

According to Jesus' words to the thief on the cross, He was in Paradise (see Luke 23:43)

Where was Jesus on the First Day of the Week?

Sometime between Sunset Saturday, the end of the Sabbath and Sunrise the 1st Day of the week, He was resurrected. This was also the 3rd day of the Feast, the Feast of First Fruits (see 1 Corinthians 15:20, 23).

Later that morning, before sunrise, Jesus had an encounter with Mary in the Garden. (John 20:1f)

Later that day Jesus walked with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus
(Luke 23:13f).

Then later that evening Jesus gathered with the 10 (John 20:19f).

I didn't see this till know, I see Mark had a great answer for u Pastor Nations. But I I think I know where you're going with this, as you believe Messiah was risen on the first day of the week (& He was) & that removes the Sabbath day. But my friend, there is no Commandment 4 the resurrection to be worshipped on Sunday & the changing of the Sabbath day, that's adding & subtracting, a no no in Deut 4:2 12:32, Prov 30:6, Rev 22:18-19. Pastor, but there is a Commandment for Shabbat in the 10 Words, & in all texts of the Bible 😉

One poster said, "According to Jesus' words to the thief on the cross, He was in Paradise" and referenced Luke 23:43.

Here is a problem. Commas were place by translators. They were not in the original text. Thus, Luke 23:43 could be rendered as: "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee to day, shalt thou be with me in paradise."

So, this passage, Luke 23:43, does not conclusively prove that Jesus and the thief were both in paradise that same day.

Really good, thanks

As a sidebar - at your convenience, would you express your viewpoint on something else?

Did Jesus preach to the spirits in Tartarus during this time frame?

I don't think I'll spend much time chasing this rabbit.
