Post Why stop sinning? bradfreeman
Why do you tell believers to stop sinning?
So they can stay saved?
So they can be a light?
So they can sing in church?

What is at the core of your "go and sin no more" message?

Brad, I thought Jesus was the author of that phrase.
Has that verse also been torn out of your Bible or explained away?

True believers don't need to be told to stop sinning. When Jesus takes control of our lives we no longer desire to willfully sin.

Or was this a trick question?

Because God says to.

Because godly love is always the best way to live, and ungodly sin is always the worst way to live.

Because God is love, and he who lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

Because God sent Jesus to turn us away from our iniquities.

Because Christ is our wisdom, righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Because Christ was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin.

Because we who have been baptized into His death have died with Christ to sin, that from now on we should no longer serve sin.

Because, for those under grace, sin shall not be our master.

Because we who have been crucified with Christ have been set free from sin.

Because we are now slaves of righteousness, redeemed from slavery to sin.

Because we are to stand fast in the liberty for which Christ has made us free.

Then, why all the rules in the Minutes?

Post Then, why all the rules in the Minutes? Charles Page
after the COG Assembly in 1987 old rules were dropped and the only rule was "cheap grace"

Oh I don't know....legalism maybe?
Do we really think that having a list of rules,or do's and don't's , keeps us from sinning? Sorry,I don't believe that. Having His words hidden in my heart, His Spirit abiding within me, and a sensitive conscious goes a lot further in keeping me from sinning than anything in a book of minutes.

At the core of Jesus' "sin no more" message was no condemnation and a desire to let the world see the Father's kindness through us so they would believe.

Huh?

"Go and sin no more" means what?

So if someone says: "Go and pick up a loaf a bread" - what should one do?

Keep
It
Simple
Stupid

I wouldn't expect a wrestler to understand what I mean when I say "what's at the core" of a message. So if you really want a "KISS"... What I mean is: What motivation are you using to get people to pick up a loaf of bread or stop sinning?

I know what YOU mean.

I just wanted to know when Jesus says "Go and sin no more" if he meant go and sin no more.

He too, kept it simple for you.
