Post Raymond Culpepper - campmeeting speaker clevelandgrad
One of my favorite preachers at one time. Now he spends about 20 minutes begging for people to buy his books, using his wife's name to help sell the books and even gives discounted prices. Before this he spends another 5 to 10 minutes politicking with all the "distinguished guests".
Dr. Mr. Culpepper, How about simply preaching and then stand in the back and peddle your wares and politic?

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion but, I strongly disagree with you. He spoke at the Heartland Region camp meeting last Friday night and your description was not what was represented there. Hey, DOC

He spoke powerfully at Kentucky's campmeeting last night.

I bought his books... Thankful that he has taken the time to write everyday down, so that when he is gone... His work will live on...

Some people if they didn't complain, they wouldn't have anything to do.

On a side note, Dr Culpepper had an altar call for sinners, and the burdened.
It was beautiful and powerful

Mr. The Mitchell
Please read Matthew 21:12 and John 2:15. Do you still believe it's proper to stand up and sell books at the beginning of preaching a sermon?

Not meaning to sound critical here, but how many sinners show up to COG campmeetings??

Mr. Brandon Bowers,
I was thinking the same thing. Thank you for asking that question.

I always enjoy hearing him speak. I almost always come away with something insightful for me to chew on. I can't speak to the whole peddling books accusation, but I can say there are many leaders within the COG that do the same thing. Acts Enthusiast

Just further proves the anointing of the man that he was spiritually aware of the opportunity to lead a few to The Lord.
There was a response and it was a wonderful thing.

A man of God of Dr. Culpepper's caliber, experience, and wisdom, who has put down his thoughts into writing a book about ministry would be a sorry minister indeed if he didn't promote his book to help others. Writing books is generally not a big money maker. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

When my husband & I were doing family crusades, we were told if we didn't sell product in the back, we were losing half our potential for income. As an evangelist, this is important.

Officials probably don't have that worry, but if you've written a book, take a moment to promote it and encourage people to stop by. A lot of times they'll offer a deal if you buy more or one price for all of it. I don't mind preachers mentioning it, but tarrying there too long can turn folks off.

Selling books - for 15 dollars you can take a week's worth of a preachers thoughts - not just 30 minutes.

If God gave Him the words - wouldn't you want him to share them? for a nominal fee of course. And if you didn't have the money - I am sure he would give it to you.

Raymond Culpepper is a tremendous preacher in every setting, Evangelist, Pastor, Campmeeting. I've had the honor of hearing him preach on several occassions and have always been blessed.

It's good to learn he has written some books. No doubt, he has much wisdom to share. Please feel free to post a link to where his books can be purchased so I can get a copy.

Last year I heard Raymond Culpepper speak on the topic of "The Holy Spirit."
It was by far the best "one-stop-shop" message on the person, work, gifts, etc. of the Holy Spirit that I've ever heard.

Aw man - where is his worthless piece of paper from Old Timer?

Need to know if it was from a degree mill - or was awarded as an honorary doctorate from an accredited university?

Why so shocked, D? I've said for years I cannot ethically reference anyone with only a honery docterate as "Dr." I got the utmost respect fer Bro Culpepper, love to hear him preach, got a bunch a his books, but see, ya can't select certain ones just cause ya like em. NO MATTER WHO IT IS, I CANNOT reference em as "Dr" ifn they aint earned one.

You know as well as I do, NB, Bro Culpepper was awarded a honery docterate (DD) from Lee. I love Lee, I love RC, but its the principle a the thing son. Even many ivy league schools WILL NOT award a honery docterate a any kind for the very reason I'm talkin bout. I got no problem callin Paul Walker, Paul Conn, Ray Hughes, etc., "Dr." Them what didn't earn it, no matter how much I love em, respect em, or what position they in, I Can Not Call Em Dr.
