OK. We've heard the messages about the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Preachers, now it is time to start talking about what happened 40 days and 50 days after the resurrection.
Forty days after he rose from the dead, Jesus ascended and was GLORIFIED. John 7 told us that the Spirit could not be given until Jesus was GLORIFIED.
Jesus said that unless he went away, the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, could not come.
Ten days after he ascended, the PROMISE came! Glory to God!
Jesus is STILL baptizing people with the Holy Ghost! Let's start hammering on this theme for the next 50 days and beyond!
We should not stop our passion at the end of the "passion" week! If you are Pentecostal you know Jesus intended to do more than just pay for what we did, he wants to change what we ARE! That's where the Holy Ghost comes in, my friends! Start preaching it now. Let the expectation build for Pentecost Sunday! God still wants to fill somebody with the Holy Ghost in the church you pastor!
Thanks, Aaron. Your post stirred me to be passionate. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |
