Recording songs on your pc |
Resident Skeptic |
Has anyone done any song recordings of yourself on your PC using soundtracks? What mic and software did you use? How did it turn out? _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

They turn out great... I have used several softwares like Adobe Audition , Guitar Protracks , and a few others. I have several mics that I use. Shure 58
Peavey , Behringer etc.. I think Audacity now offers multitrack software that is free and I think it has the effects that you will want.

That is incredible! The quality is much better than I ever imagined a home recording would sound like. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

30 years ago this would have taken a hundred thousand dollars worth of recording equipment in nashville to do what one can do today for practically free. |

I don't doubt that at all. Technology grows daily. I hope when I get to a nursing home they have fast and good internet. I want to enjoy some music and videos without waiting five minutes after I click then see it broken as it down loads. LOL _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Indeed.
So was the lady singing your wife? I take the gentleman singing was you. You have an awesome "old school" country sound. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

That was my wife singing. The male singer was a friend of mine. I just did all the music. |

How did you do the music exactly? _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

How did you do the music exactly? |
1. I will record a drum track on track 1 with my drum machine.
2. rewind and While track one is playing back what I have recorded I will record track 2 with the piano hopefully in time with the drum track.
3. I'll playback track 1&2 then record Steel or guitar on track 3
4. ill playback all tracks recorded and record the singing on the next track.
5. If I need more Ill just record more tracks the same way.
Most multi track software will allow 4 to 24 tracks and up. A standard computer will handle around 8 to 12 tracks with very little latency.
When everything has been recorded and mistakes corrected Ill do the final mix of all channels into a stereo track ready for distribution.

It's me again. Good signal today. I still don't get the words, but can tell the music is good. My wife (who is my real ears) says it is great. Also liked a couple more there. THANKS.
The cochlear implants do allow me to understand much better but all voices are more mechanical or cartoon character sounding. Imma enjoy heaven! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Definitely sounds great! Sounds professionally done and your wife has a beautiful voice. Did you say you used Audacity to do this? I downloaded it years ago and used it maybe once. |

I recorded that with Guitar Pro Tracks. I have 7 tracks on that mix.
Both Pro tracks and Audacity has 44.1 sample rates so the sound would be the same.
Yes my wife is professional. Thanks for the compliment and Ill pass that along to her. |
