I NBF and QW were not Gator and/or Seahawk fans we could be the best of friends. How can you be so right about the Bible and so wrong about football?

Haha, that's funny. Should we all stay awake posting on Acts all night to keep us awake in case Christ returns in the middle of the night? Laughing

No, that's just not true. It could happen with some things in some cases, but it doesn't always follow.

Not scriptural.

Proverbs 31:6
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Food and drink falls under Romans 14 for me. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. Even Jesus said there is nothing from "without" that defiles the man. It's what's within.

Having said that, I am no fan of alcohol. But I'm also not a fan of adding laws where scripture is silent.

As I said Freeman, this was not posted for people like you. It was posted for some of those, that people like you haven't got to yet.
As far as you go, drink on!
But just so you know, you have missed something, somewhere.
Also, there's just one thing I am curious about ( Doesn't really matter to me what you do), but if you're a Pastor ( I use that term lightly), how do you go about consoling a family that lost a loved one, due to a drunk driver. Or how do you council an abused wife of an alcoholic? Or how would you council her husband? How do you define to the Church what is moderate, or what that threshold is for their consumption?
As I said, I really don't care what you do. But just wondering how you handle the issue of alcohol?

I'm not Brad, but for me this exceeds the scope of my responsibility. Much in the same way I would not presume to tell someone how many helpings of fried chicken would be moderate and how many would be excessive.

Why not?

If we presume to have whole preaching series to tell folks to have "Great Sex, God's Way" - don't we think it would be ok to preach at least one sermon on "Great Chicken, God's Way"?

Or will that not draw a big enough crowd or not make you look hip and "with it"?

( perhaps that sermon might be best preached on the corner where the local Golden Corral or KFC is)

This is a big part of why everyone is dropping off of Actscelerate. There is no censoring of anti Bible and pro death/darkness suggestions. Actscelerate is being killed slowly by guys just pounding stuff nobody wants to hear - they get on their hobby horse and won't get off so everyone else is getting out.

I kinda wondered that myself. This thread has included remarks on fried chicken, sex, and Kentucky bourbon. I think it probably needs to mention Trump, Russian vodka, NC-produced sweet potato vodka, and maybe a few high profile preachers who got caught with a DUI to be complete. Barring that, look for yet another post. Cool
