Post Ministers dress for a beach wedding JLarry
What is the dress for a minister doing a wedding on the beach.
The groom is wearing kackies and white shirt. Bride is wearing a formal wedding gown.

I have one coming up and this is my first.

I'd probably ask the bride and groom what their expectations are for your attire (and then probably give a little more weight to what the bride suggests, given our culture). If they say, "Whatever," go with khakis, open collar white shirt, and a light colored sports coat.

Don't wear shorts.
Don't want your legs to become the focal point.

Go to Haband.com and order yourself a nice Guayabera shirt and wear some light khakis. They usually have some nice white ones. That should be nice and cool.

Good advice. I do this regardless of the venue. I've officiated in robes and in shorts and flip flops. But if you ask the couple beforehand, you can't go wrong !

I was thinking a suit with flip flops and rolled up pants legs Smile .... but after reading the thread the advice ask the couple sounds like better advice. You could also ask the couple's parents and wedding planner for input, especially if a family member is helping with the color for the flowers and choice of wedding party clothing, etc.
