THE TEMPTER SAYS "PROVE IT!"
YOUR FATHER SAYS "BELIEVE IT!"
"and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased..."
"And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’” Mat. 3:17 - 4:3,4
HEAR WHO YOUR FATHER SAYS YOU ARE.
Like Jesus, we find our life in what the Father says about us.
We have nothing to prove.
The stones (the Law was written on stones) have nothing to say about our sonship and nothing to provide for our life.
Jesus refused to turn stones into bread.
We live by the Spirit, not the letter.
"Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God." Gal. 4:6,7
We live by believing what He says.
His Spirit says we have a Father!
He says we are His children.
We are in the family and heirs by a new birth.
He says we aren't slaves.
We are not in the house only for the work we do.
"The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:35,36
