Post Trump got CRUZ-IFIED! doyle
The heading comes from the New York post, the most colorful heading thus far about Trump and Iowa. http://nypost.com/cover/covers-for-february-2-2016/

I like Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorim... As far as I know, they are all good people but none of them can do what must be done to get this country back on track.

Trump could do that, but as I've stated here several times, he was so bloomin abrasive and unwise during his candidacy in Iowa, that he turned off as many people as he gained in support. With a state packed with Evangelicals, he made vicious personal attacks against people and often used profanity. The world is not going to collapse because some politician says a cuss word, but a wise person would know his audience and in this case, Trump did not show wisdom. In fact, he showed a massive lack of wisdom.

Had he not made vicious personal attacks on others and had reigned in his cussin, I believe that would have helped Trump have a far better showing. However, as we've heard many times, his strategy of not having a good ground game, also made a massive difference. We are told that Cruz had some 6,000 volunteers working with him. Amazing.

That's my opinion. What's yours?

Yes sir.

This is my biggest concern for Trump... negotiating with other heads of state and world leaders. He seems like a petulant child. I don't want that being the person that speaks for my family. Yikes!

If he'd tone the "show" down, I actually align at 96% according to a test that I took with him. That is the strongest of any candidate for me. My choice for now, Rubio, is only 5th on my list according to the test but I "like" him more.

I do not believe or trust Trump.

I have a lot of family in Iowa. They don't trust him either and they found him insulting. If he had been the Trump that we saw in his speech last night after the caucus, he might have fared better. God resists the proud...

Cruz will never be able to beat Hillary, I really doubt anyone can but Trump would have had a better chance.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not for Trump. But winning Iowa is like starting off with an SEC Football season with a win over Vandy. You ain't going to the Georgia Dome off of that. The last 2 Iowa winners were Santorum and Huckleby. Just like New Hampshire - it means nothing until you get down to South Carolina. But it will thin out the pack as the conservatives who had no support in Iowa will see the handwriting on the wall. Just like the liberals who don't do anything in NH - they will be done too. totally disagree, I've seen polls where every one of the top 4 or 5 Republicans except for Donald Trump, beat Hillary. Some even show Trump beating her. She is not well liked or trusted within the entire Democratic party. She has too much baggage to say the least. I see her base staying home much like ours did for McLaim and RobMe. Why do you think Comrade Crypt-Keeper is running so well against her?

I'm still bewildered by the thinking that "Trump is the ONLY one who can solve our country's problems."
What is it that he can REALISTICALLY do that NO ONE else can do (besides appeal to emotions, which will not cure our country's ills)?

What he did to Carson is nothing but dirty politics. Definitely, not the Christian thing to do if you're gonna claim to be one. Acts-pert Poster

Yeah kinda like Ben (whom I like) trying to be more animated, he tries and falls right back into a monologue.

It seems at any controversy his come back is, "I'll sue you!"

We will see in the next state if his crowds convert to votes. I just do not know WHO, this election time. Confused Confused Confused

Good point. here Smile My thinking has always been WE LOSE because so far NOTHING has slowed the Hillary one down. She was and still is favored to take the Democratic convention.

My point is her ability to walk thru fire and not get burned. I will be amazed if the e-mails sink her. I will be SHOCKED if she is indicted. AND Unless the GOP can come together, she goes in, no matter the candidate.

At present I think Cruz has the most brain power, but abrasive. I see Rubio as the only one who might fair better, but this is early.

But to your comment, realistically several others could solve our ills before Trump, if they had a chance. Shocked

Solving our ills will take CONGRESS UNITED + a President.
