Our heart-felt prayers and sympathy are extended to the Beatty family. Viewers have begun sharing their heart-felt thoughts about Brother David.

He loved the Lord, his family and those to whom he ministered. He was still pastoring at 80, an amazing legacy which we honor. Eddie posted a link to the obit and we also have brought that link here: http://www.fikefh.com/memsol.cgi?user_id=1733660

It is true according to his Facebook page.

My sisters went to Lee with him back in the late 50s-early 60s. He came to minister to my Dad's church several times and stayed at our house. We had a piano at our house and I remember him playing and singing when I was about 6 years old. I was awestruck with his piano playing and with the fact he had records. I played on my record player for years. As you may know, he is the cousin of Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Lee Lewis and played the piano just like Jerry Lee. The last time I saw him was at my Mom's funeral 5 years ago.

I received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit under his ministry at youth camp in Doraville in 72 or 73. He and my Father in Law were friends like brothers and David died yesterday on Joe's birthday. He is very upset losing this 60+ year friendship. David and his wife were retired to Cleveland and he was continuing to pastor.

They have been part of a small group of friends that began together at Lee back in the 50s and all retired together to Cleveland. They always meet for dinner EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT without fail. Great to see this kind of community stay intact over the years. Others in this group are the Youngs, the Porters, the Taylors, the Andersons (not pastors but accepted into the group) and the Beattys.

Post Resident Skeptic
I think he came and spoke at the JSBC chapel back in the day.
