Post Wacky Revelations From the Pulpit diakoneo
I did not want to hijack another thread Smile

One of the craziest I have heard was: the reason Mary, the disciples and others did not recognize Christ after the resurrection was that he was in full High Priest dress.

Any others?

Please, no serpent seed stuff Exclamation Smile

When Cain took "of" his fruits for an offering, the "of" meant he didn't select the best, he just took any ole part of it. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

That Adam choosing to sin following his wife's sin was actually a covering of her sin, and was thus a type of Christ becoming sin for us to cover the sins of His bride. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

not to go OT, but have you ever heard C.S. Lewis's theory on hell? What about the Orthodox church?

Back on-topic, I heard that when you get to heaven, God is going to ask you two questions ....

On the flip-side of that coin, how about "that Lucifer is the original name of Satan"? (true its pretty well accepted and not really a "wacky revelation", but its not easily founded on scripture, and in the end, proof that even Protestants accept some things from "tradition" and not only scripture)

Good point. I've noticed the connection between the two is tenuous, and there are also some positive references to the morning star.

That's a good one, along with omniscient. And you hear it ALL the time.

OK then, what about the wackiest of them all???

I know the dash thing can't be the wackiest Shocked I think the thing I heard would be wackier than that. Jesus dressed as a High Priest...I mean you know the whole premise was he had to put His blood on the mercy seat!
Embarassed

not that this is a contest or anything. Although we could have a vote at the end of the wackiest Smile

That would attribute to Satan something that is true only of God. Do the math. If every person in the USA alone had a personal encounter with the Devil himself once a year each encounter would last less than 10 seconds.

Various teachings on tithes and firstfruits.

Praying for Indonesia to become more 'democratic.'

The idea that if you repeat a prayer without being told that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, that you are saved.
