Post Trigger warnings bonnie knox
I thank we gonna have to put "trigger warnins" on our posts. Iffen ya say somethin bout it being 48 degrees outside, why ya better put a "trigger warnin" on that word "degree." If ya have ta mention ya went to tha doctor, why ya better put a "trigger warnin" on that word "doctor."
Even if ya just saw some ducks a swimmin on the MILL pond, for tha sake of the Ole Time Country Preacher, ya better put a "trigger warnin" on that.
Folks, I'm talkin bout a hair trigger, here.

Yep, Roy had trigger. I rode Trigger once in 1946. I also got a wupping for it because them show's was a sin.

Daddy asked me, "Where were you Saturday morning?"

"I was with Sonny at his house (Sonny's daddy was the clerk)."

Daddy slowly opened the newspaper, there I was on the front page on the stage of the local show, headlines, "Roy allows boy to ride trigger on stage."

One of them double whammy's whupped for lying and gong to the Show. Embarassed

I think it's the coolest thing that you got to ride Trigger, and I hate that you had to get a whipping for it.
Did you by any chance get to save the newspaper clipping?

Sorry, Miss Bonnie, it just sets off the ole timers radar when I hear words like:

degree
mill
dr

Makes me wonder if stuff is real.

Now bout ole Trigger, I don't know how a horse got mixed up in all this.

Actually, where I got my education on The Lone Ranger was one summer when my son was young and we watched an episode every day. These were reruns of the old TV show that were coming in on Sky Angel Satellite TV service. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed a show that I had always assumed was geared to young boys.
We also watched a little of Roy Rogers. I liked the Lone Ranger a lot better. And I read Cojak's blog and remember him writing about riding Trigger.
(We didn't have a TV while I was growing up; my mother didn't want its corrupting influence in our home. And I'm too young to have heard the radio episodes.)
