Post Some Truths of Age and the COG Cojak
In reading the General Assembly post a sticky, I smile. There was a time I would know 8 out of ten men listed. Most would have been in our house at one time or the other. Now I know two family names, but not the individual.
Believe it or not, if you read this, it will happen to you, if you live long enough.

I learn so much here on acts. My entire life was formed (good and bad) for the first 16 years by the COG. Remember pastors, your sons and daughters are learning about life and the COG in your parsonage, church and at YOUR table.
COG TRUTHS from my childhood (without the internet):

...I never knew my dad had BAD members.
...Overseers were revered, and there was NEVER A QUESTION OF TRUTHFUL!
....Finances of State and Gen. HQ was NEVER questioned.
....Not often, but I knew at times, my dad was not happy with his last sermon.
...I knew for a fact a man could pray all night, I have heard one (small parsonage)
.....I knew a man would groan in the spirit (I heard it).
.....I knew I was giving up my bed if we had an evangelist.
.....I learned that evangelists (no matter how big a name) were fun to be around.
.....I learned my daddy's car was a multi purpose vehicle
......... .... visit members
.............. Take us to the Mts
.............. Bring people to church. (I was happy with that when I got my license)
...... Officials were normal people that God had blessed. My sister once invited EC Thomas to dinner and fed him cornbread, pintos and milk.

When you get old, you have too much time to think!
