Indeed. Although I read a somewhat distressing piece yesterday about how there really wasn't anyone sitting on the bench who was better. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

Can't be anyone worse. He was no leader, the job was too big for him. He had no backbone. Its clear that he chose his timing to avoid yet another embarrassing defeat by the minority party on the budget vote. At least for now, I'll call this a good day for conservatives.

It's a fact that it cannot be anyone worse. Kevin McCarthy probably won't be much better, but he will not be worse.

The other thing I read that concerned me was that Boehner might be announcing it now so he can just get the pressure off over the next month and do what he wants in terms of compromising with the Democrats. I'm not sure I buy that, but we'll see. I think he knew he was probably going to be ousted and wanted to avoid embarrassment, like you said.

He's doing Face the Nation on Sunday. I'm not sure that bodes well. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

yeah - it can't be good for conservatives - who will get the blame of "not working together" and stuff.

At least it will be some change, and a note to the ones waiting in the wings that some folk are just a little tired of 'We are going to cut spending' AS THEY PASS ANOTHER SPENDING BILL!
