A pastor sending a member a letter that says, "Don't come here" is not the Biblical method for church discipline.

I think I would greet her at the door and welcome her with open arms, then shout a little (If I felt the Spirit Move).
I doubt if she is in the mood for one of those 'courtesy drops' I hear about.

There is an update to this story. Apparently enough folks who didn't take too kindly to the way he had treated a "mother" in the church mobilized. The pastor who called the police on the 103 year old grandmother has been removed from the church. The Church Folk Revolution got involved. I take it this organization doesn't appreciate "pastors" who disregard the sheep.

Aaron, I generally do try to imagine different angles, yes, but for a pastor (whom she had taught as a pupil in school) to cancel service, turn out the lights on her, call the cops on her, just seems a bizarre way to treat a woman who is said to love the Lord, read her Bible every day, and one who has been a faithful member for 92 years. |

Well I must thankyou Bonnie. I enjoyed the trip to
Pimppreacher.com. (something like that.)
While there I found a list of 10 Pastors to avoid, and found out where to apply for my degree, but Please don't tell whats-his-pen name.
