Is it true the Tupelo folks won't let a hound dog stay in the parsonage? Laughing Laughing

I'm glad you appreciated it. It took a bit of work to squeeze 33 song titles recorded by Elvis into that little conversation.

Now, since someone mentioned Blue Suede Shoes, I have a story about that.

Not every story told by an Irishman is true - we have a saying "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story" - but I swear this one is 100% true.

Late last year I attended a session of the Irish Council of Churches, representing the Evangelical Alliance. I was wearing a navy blue suit so, on the spur of the moment, I decided to wear a pair of really smart blue suede shoes that I'd picked up in Becky's Shoes in Cleveland.

During the coffee break, a Roman Catholic Archbishop looked down at my feet and said, "I like your shoes."

"Thank you," I replied, "But please don't stand on them. You can do anything you want, but don't step on my blue suede shoes."

I was hoping he would come out with something witty - like quoting another Elvis song. But he just smiled at me, crossed himself, and said, "God bless you, my son."

Which also influences his hermeneutics and homiletics.
Nonetheless, our people are anxious for him to return and preach. Go figure...

(OK, I lobbed one across the plate...your turn! Smile )

Happy to come and preach to the homiletic community in Kodak anytime.

Post Just feeling nostalgic Cojak
If you need some memories, click the last page at the bottom. I have been reading these and miss some of the folks, especially the ones passed on.
Mem, Penny, Bonnie and many more.

People like Nick Park and Chris added a lot of wit and wisdom...

Anyway, life is still good. Cool
